OK as I'm writing THIS "Catholic Vote.org" just called to ask me to vote for Santorum because he's about FAMILY. He's the only ONE talking about the right to life!

(like that's high up on my list)

Reminds me of a mailer I got about 8 years ago in NV. There were two hot-button initiatives on the ballot: A State constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and an initiative to legalize marijuana. The mailer included a slate of candidates for various state offices to supported the first and opposed the second.

I ended up bringing that flyer with me to the ballot box and made sure to vote for the strongest candidate that was not on that list in each office.

Unfortunately, that year, the majority of Nevadans disagreed with me.

Best thing said by a Republican in the NH Debates:
Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, meanwhile, went after Romney for comments at Saturday night's debate criticizing Huntsman's service as U.S. ambassador to China under Obama.
Huntsman said he was serving his country, whether a Democratic or Republican president, to which Romney responded by questioning how someone seeking to lead the Republican Party could have promoted the policies of the Obama administration.
"This nation is divided ... because of attitudes like that," Huntsman shot back, prompting applause.
I would have said something like, "I love my party, but I love my country more. You should try it." Still, not bad.

The circus is getting a lot of coverage in our news and it is kind of strange to see how detached from reality the candidates are.

On one hand it is nice to get the impression that our own politicians are sane, on the other it is scary to see such a big and powerful country potentially run by such nuts.

You have an interesting dilemma, vote for the less insane and hope to send a message or go for the nuttiest and hope he won't get elected?

Actually, I don't agree with the idea of voting for the craziest candidate and chortling about how doing so is sabotaging the crazy party's nomination. If they end up winning the election through some kind of massive swing to crazy then you will be partly responsible for giving yourself a crazy president. Don't you think the contest is a little bit more important than some hilarious practical joke.

What will you guys do when Huntsman drops out later this week?

Well, Ron Paul has the NICEST people on the phone. SO NICE, he almost gets the vote. But I feel like I have to give Huntsman a try. Still, hours to go, I could change my mind. But I think morally, I should vote for the guy I think would be best at the job. Huntsman it is. Ron Paul wooed me there, he sure can organize a campaign. So if I were having a big party, I'd hire Ron Paul. but for president... Huntsman

The Danish news have a rather nasty article on how circus Fox is playing the candidates off against each other and changing favourites in order to keep the field open and the excitement up.

(Well, in Danish)

Huntsman, just to make a point, would be my recommendation.

This ^

Everyone needs to see that more moderate (relatively speaking), less insane Republicans still exist and are willing to stand up and fight back against the Tea Party madness which has swept the GOP.

Moderates, stand up and fight, dammit!!!

I'll be sad that his relatively sane voice will no longer be in the debate. Personally, I hope he sticks it out as long as possible, giving a voice to all the estranged moderates in the Republican party.

So, kittynh, since the New Hampshire primary is today, have your figured out who to vote for?

If I had known Bear Betzler was running I would have campaigned for him. Cause a president named "BEAR" would have been cool.

also, where I voted....oh and I did something BAD. I took the pencil out of the booth with me and turned it in with my ballot. That is a no no. I got SUCH a look and a lecture from the little old ladies that run things.

"Bear, "Buddy," "The Crow!" There was no shortage of awesome on that ballot! :D

ETA: Oh, and is L. John Davis, Jr. related to Sammy?

Sweet FSM, Kitty, that looks like a CA gubernatorial ballot, not a presidential primary ballot.
