Some predicted a possible terrorist attack on the Sears Tower in Chicago on 6 June 2004. What is the betting that it will happen on 6 June 2006 instead?

Numerologically this date seems just as ripe as the previous one.

Perhaps we should warn the police to watch out for any suspiscious behaviour!
 
I don't understand?

Why would June 6, 2006 be any more relevant than June 6, 2004?

Oh, is this some silly Revelations thing? (Sorry, I am not well versed in the Christian bible..)
 
Heh. Yeah -- 6-6-6 is thought to be the "number of the beast" in Revs.

Numerology is bunk on its own, of course. But there are some tantalizing (if somewhat speculative) hints that some al Qaeda types believe in it (911 days elapsed between the 9-11 attacks and the 3-11 Madrid attacks, the USS Cole bombing on Columbus day and the retaking of Spain by Christians in 1492). If that's the case, then looking at numerology and the relationships of dates might be useful in predicting dates which are more likely than others for attacks. That said, most attacks seem to have been a matter of opportunity driving the attack more forcefully than attachment to a particular date, so it's not like you can sleep in on 6-5 and 6-7 even if al Qaeda has chosen 6-6 as an optimum attack date. And of course if one is going to look at such things one would be interested in Islamic or Arab numerology rather than a western version; I'm not aware that Revs. is part of the Islamic canon.
 
Well, let's see: 6/6/06. The digits add up to 18, which then add up to 9. So consider 9/9/09. 9/9/09 - 6/6/06 = 3/3/03. Add up those digits and you get 9!

However, let's see what happens when we add: 9/9/09 + 6/6/06 = 15/15/15 = 6/6/06. Oh my God!

And given the calandar that we use, it seems to me that an adept woo could find, post hoc, any number of solid relationships. One element of truth, however, is somethings predictive ability. That is what would be interesting.
