Merged New telepathy test: which number did I write ?

I find it hard to believe that you correctly typed "elicit", and that your "evil" phone changed it to "illicit". "elicit" is not such a rare word.

Alright, now you are clearly extracting the urine. There are entire websites dedicated to such auto-correct errors. Hat loads of them.

You cannot be unaware of them they are ubiquitous. The intertubes are replete with them.

Surely you are not going to claim that such things are not trivially mundane.

Oh, right. you actually are.

Here is why I was hoping people wouldn't reply to this thread. Everything is twisted into the narrative he wants which now includes typos, It could be one of those threads you just go into for fun but considering his condition I see as harmful.

Hi, I invite you to participate in a simple telepathy test.

At about 6:40 p.m. on this Sunday July 10 (Brussels, Belgium time), I wrote carefully one of the four words: "automobile", "boat", "plane", and "submarine" on my sheet of paper, and I surrounded it with a rough ellipse. Then, I wrote it again twice.

I shall repeat this word (which was obtained using a random number generator) from time to time during this test.

I ask you to write it here (if you think you know it, even with a doubt). You may also answer "I don't know".

It may be useful, also, that you explain briefly how confident you are in your answer (for example: "almost sure", or "not sure, can't decide between ... and ...", or "completely random answer").

The MD5 hash of a complicated sentence containing the target word is:
bbaa806c88b149bb095feaa820df7f6d

Thank you for participating.
I would like now to give the results of this test. This won't take very long, as none of the four possible answers ("automobile", "boat", "plane", and "submarine") were given on this forum.
The word I wrote and surrounded on July 10 was "automobile", the sentence I used to produce the MD5 hash mentioned above was: "The targett{ word iz automobile éééééçè".

About one hour after I started this test, fagin replied:
He later insisted:
I'm still sure I heard train, or it might have been kitten. Or possibly potato.
Neither train, nor kitten, nor potato is a possible correct answer to this test. However, I note that "train" is more closely related to "automobile" than either "boat", "plane", or "submarine", because both automobiles (cars) and trains are wheeled ground vehicles (unlike the three others [generally]), and I can speculate that this is further evidence for my usual hypothesis, that I am a worldwide thought broadcaster (these "partial hits" - like when somebody replies "i" when the correct answer is "1" - seem to be fairly common in my telepathy experiences).

I also started this test, on July 10 (2016), on the now defunct Australasian Skeptics Forum. There, three answers were given, one of them was correct (hit rate equal to 33%). I am not going to present here a detailed analysis of the answers given there, but a post by member quarky over there was interesting. He had given an incorrect answer ("boat" instead of "automobile"), but, after I explained why his answer didn't seem credible, he said:"... I lied...I knew it was automobile all along".

I guess there's really nothing left to say but:

There are sometimes some reasons for hope:

Nor did I nor am I affirming them. The rest of the post from which you abstracted this tiny quote is crucial to its meaning. As are the other posts of mine in this thread. The bottom line: you have posted that your beliefs as to your telepathic powers distress you greatly, that you feel responsible for bad events that take place elsewhere in the world, sometimes to the point of suicidal thoughts. My consistent suggestion is that you need to seek ways of better controlling these aspects of your brain. From your posts in this thread I do not think there is any point in debating the reality of the powers you believe that you have; you are absolutely convinced and presenting other points of view or even the results of your own failed experiments in response has been useless. My suggestion has been, therefore, for you to seek more help to feel better in control of this distressing situation, including dedicated and open-minded re-exploration of advice from appropriate experts who help people who are distressed by disturbing thoughts.

Having sought to again clarify my view, I return to my own belief that attempts to engage with you in this thread, even my own attempts to relate my sympathy for your situation, have not proven helpful. And I do wish to be helpful. Best regards and good luck.

Telepathy test: which word did I write?

Hi, I invite you to participate in a new, simple, telepathy test, of the kind you may have seen before. I shall also ask you to answer a complementary question, which is difficult, but important for me (and perhaps also important beyond me)

At about 9:00 p.m. on this Friday September 9 (Brussels, Belgium time), I wrote carefully one of the four words: "automobile", "boat", "plane", and "submarine" on my sheet of paper, and I surrounded it with a rough ellipse. Then, I wrote it again twice.

I shall repeat this word from time to time during this test.

I ask you to write it here (if you think you know it, even with a doubt). You may also answer "I don't know".

It may be useful, also, that you explain briefly how confident you are in your answer (for example: "almost sure", or "not sure, can't decide between ... and ...", or "completely random answer").

Thank you for participating.

Complementary question:

If you feel you have the necessary knowledge to answer, I also would like to read your reply to this additional question:
"Are you still able to perceive part of my thoughts when you are either inside a submerged submarine, or scuba-diving (preferably) in the sea?"
If you have an uncle who is a former submariner, or a brother who is keen on diving, I would appreciate it if you could ask them (electromagnetic waves are normally absorbed and blocked by conducting seawater, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communication_with_submarines about this).

I am myself considering the possibility of doing a submarine excursion (for example, here: http://www.submarinesafaris.com/index.php , in the Canary Islands), in order to investigate whether being underwater could stop the "voices" I often hear in my head (I assume these voices have a telepathic nature). The voices I hear are often hostile, they say that I am responsible for violent events that happen in the world, and seem to be correlated with my own thoughts (for example, I look up air fares - which is something I rarely do - and the next day I learn a plane crash has occurred, with many dead), and that I should therefore "terminate my own life". Psychiatry does not seem to be very useful to deal with these kinds of problems, because my (apparent) telepathy is not clearly recognized by Medicine.

Six years ago, I asked the following question on Yahoo Answers:

Do you sometimes have the odd impression of "knowing what I think"?

Do you sometimes have the odd impression of "knowing what I think" because of an unusual telepathy phenomenon?

My (first) name is Michel, I Iive near Brussels (Belgium).

Also, why (in your opinion) has this phenomenon (if it is real) not been recognized or studied by Science?

Do you think some people believe "a good lie" is better than "the ugly truth"?

im (a member of Yahoo Answers) replied:

"Well, I nearly always know what you think ..."
(see link: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100703134559AAR70yj for full answer).
im was an excellent member of Yahoo Answers, with a best answer rate equal to 93% for 999 answers.

Boat

Certainty: I give it about 30% to 40% likelihood of being correct. Better than random, but hardly meeting the threshold for predictability.

Here's the reason: Humans suck at random. If we're supposed to pick something random, we almost never pick the first or last thing in the list, nor do we pick the exact center element. But we tend to anchor, so we more often tend to select something closer to the beginning of a list than toward the end.

With the assumption that you wrote the words in the same order that you presented them to us (alphabetically), then the word "boat" is the word that you're statistically most likely to have select. It's the 2nd in the list - not 1st, not last, but more toward the beginning than the end.

It has nothing at all to do with telepathy, only to do with a rough understanding of how brains work, and how bad they are at random ;)

I am 100% confident that I have no idea which word you wrote. And in the light of all the previous threads on this topic, I would strongly suggest that everyone else say the same and no more.

I'm concentrating really hard, and I'm seeing… some sort of vehicle. Yes, I can see it more clearly now. It has a streamlined shape, and an internal combustion engine.

How did I do?

Thank you for your answer, Emily's Cat. Of course, I cannot reveal yet whether it is correct or not.
Yes, the four possible choices (automobile, boat, plane and submarine) are ordered alphabetically. Somehow, I seemed to have forgotten this myself (if I ever realized - or decided - it)

Dave, in this test, you are perfectly entitled to answer "I don't know", or "I have no idea", or any equivalent formulation. However, I am a little concerned about your motivation. Could it be that you are concerned about "not betraying Team Skepticism", something like that (perhaps a kind of patriotism, like when a citizen or a soldier decides to remain loyal to their country, even when they are actually convinced that it is dead wrong)?

I'm one hundred percent certain that this thread should be merged with all the other nonsensical threads you have started all asking exactly the same thing, and all not accepting any of the answers given other than the one's that fit your pre-conceived notions.
