Merged New telepathy test: which number did I write ?

In my view, this was not a game, but, rather, a telepathy test.

It may or may not be a game, but the one thing it most definitely was not is a valid telepathy test.

Now, of course, I used the word "valid", while you didn't, so technically, I can't say you're wrong. But I don't think "I ran an invalid test of telepathy, and ended up convincing nobody of anything, except, perhaps, a few who became convinced that I'm guilty of intellectual dishonesty" is really something to brag about.

As has been said, the easiest person to fool is yourself.

Michel H, whatever the explanation for your beliefs in ESP, they stem from the chemistry in your brain, even if they are real and whatever I believe. If the phenomenon bothers you, there are ever better ways to make the chemistry work to help you more. Ask help from experts.

Michel,

I understand that you will not simply choose someone you trust to run tests with you, because you believe every single person on the planet is actively trying to suppress knowledge of your ability.

If you believe that no one can be trusted, why do you bother with these "tests"? You think we are are all in a giant conspiracy against you. Why would that change?

Also, what do you think motivates us to deny your telepathy, but not your forum posts or other forms of communication?

I note there have been no reports of a worldwide phenomenon where people report hearing a mysterious voice saying "2".

Why might that be? Has the entire human race, including people who believe in telepathy, somehow arranged to conspire against one person? To what purpose?

Why don't you contact Camelot and ask if significantly more people chose the number 2 in the UK Lotto during the week that you played your telepathy game?

A new telepathy experiment: which number did I write?

Hi, I invite you to participate in a (new) simple telepathy test.

At about 22:23 on this Sunday June 1st (Brussels, Belgium time), I wrote carefully one of the ten numbers: "1", "2", "3", ..., "8", "9", "10" on my sheet of paper, and I surrounded it with a circle. Then, I wrote it again twice.

I shall repeat this number from time to time during this test.

It was selected using this random number generator: http://www.random.org/integers/ .

I ask you to write it here (if you think you know it, even with a doubt). You may also answer "I don't know".

If you have no idea about the number I wrote, then, I think, the right answer for you is "I don't know". I believe this would be better than answering a completely random number, which might turn out to be correct by pure chance.

So, your answer should be a number between "1" and "10" (inclusive), or "I don't know".

A comment might be useful, but is not indispensable.

Please note that the number I wrote has no meaning, it was just produced by the generator.

A SHA-512 hash code for a complicated sentence containing the target (like, for example: "the number I wrote is 5 f43⇉1한 3b1àéùd81 wè#çgedr!àçr") is:
1042509622A048638DC3C5E96085DE0E0A30007A8BDF1BA762D72D83BB18BF62DC50E91D7685B519C9EFBAC09FE4AA61D3C8CB9E854635FADBB79FBF7BA99DDE

It was obtained on this website:
http://www.convertstring.com/Hash/SHA512
and verified on http://www.abunchofutils.com/utils/developer/sha512-hash-calculator/.

I shall reveal the actual sentence I used to produce this hash at the end of the test, after I have revealed the number I wrote and circled. This way, you'll be able to verify my number.

Thank you for participating.

Not this crap again.

Go away, read the literature on experimenting with human subjects and come back sometime with a sensible protocol. A passing acquaintance with probability theory might help as well.

Didn't you post this garbage once before? Or have you copied it from somewhere else?

Wouldn't it help to wait until people here forgot your last test? They need only go up in this thread a bit to learn about how your testing procedure actually works.

Hmm, the last time you used a random number, you did not like it and substituted one you did like. I don't trust your random number.

Merge happening in 3....2....1....

Oh mee, mee, choose me, teacher.

I don't know.

This is, by the way, an entirely true and complete answer. I have no idea what number you might have chosen, how you chose it, or why. Another answer, being a guess, has a small chance of appearing to be right without being true. This one is true.
