New Prediction

So the prediction failed, but it's still a success because a few days is a relatively short time compared with a thousand years? Is that what you are trying to say, rcfieldz?

I wish these woo folk would stop talking in riddles, and also that they would make substantive replies to the points raised on the threads that they start.

The bottom line is that you predicted a massive volcanic eruption before today, and there has been no such eruption.

Well based on your observations... I had just made a event prediction that did not happen yet. Will it ever as you have described? Who knows? So you say it can not. A few days in a millenium is what? Or a natural occurrence like a volcano is predictable you say...

No no, now you are getting things mixed up.
Noone here has ever said that such events cannot happen.
Nor has anyone said that an event as you predicted cannot happen in a short time frame.
Nor do I doubt such an event could happen without any prior warning, although given current seismology that chance is VERY small.

The difference is that while it is accepted that such an event CAN happen, you claimed it WOULD happen. And that prediction was proven to be utterly wrong.

So your actual prediction was "at some undetermined point in the future, a volcano will erupt".

Well, I hereby predict that at some undetermined point in the future, Barack Obama will die. I predict that at some undetermined point in the future a hurricane will hit the East coast of America. I predict that at some point in the future a star will explode.

3 predictions. My powers are 3 times as great as yours.

I predict that the next prediction will be more vague so it will be impossible to predict when the prediction will have failed to occur.

With a little bit of editing, we have an accurate statement.

And, no. I'm not your timekeeper, rcfieldz. I provide the service for the lulz for members who have been presented portents of great disasters, second comings, WWIII, etc... Not a one of you has been correct.

The way you're trying to weasel out of your "in a few days" is worthy of the ridicule you will get if you continue. Of course there will EVENTUALLY be another horrendous volcanic eruption, somewhere. Hey, but what's a few days, weeks, months, years or decades when we're talking millenia, right? Wrong. Even stretching "a few days" to equal a week (something no one agrees on except the above generous benefactor to the JREF), you've got about 14 hours left to go or you're just another failed reader of goat entrails, like the thousands of other who've come before you over the past several millenia.

And I don't think anyone denies that will be some sort of cataclysmic eruption of a volcano sometime in the future. What we deny is that you're able to foretell when and where (or either).

Maybe you want to get your planets aligned to your chakra and check the bio-rhythm feedback monitor and get back to us when you have another one? This one has boarded the Fail Train and is now departing on track number 911 OMG for Taos, Area 51, and points west. All aboard!

When one makes it their habit to profess an opinion or world view that is completely and totally unanchored from reality one quickly learns that clarity is not your friend.

Sorry about the boring replies!

I, however, am most interested in your prediction, so here is what I will do ...

If your prediction comes true, then I will donate $50.00 to JREF in your name on 12 JUN 2013.

And if your prediction does not come true, then I will dontate $50.00 to JREF in my name on 12 JUN 2013.

I expect that it is quite reasonable to give your prediction a seven day window.

In either case, JREF will get $50.00 from me on 12 JUN 2013.

Thanks much and take care.

Well, since it has been over seven days, I just made the $50.00 dontation to JREF which I committed to making.

So please reconsider your fortune telling claims 'rcfieldz' since your volcanic eruption issue has failed to materialize.

I've been away. So where was the big eruption? I checked the news, but obviously the MSM is censoring this information and that's just horrible. I'm sure there weren't too many casualties since there was forewarning of this catastrophe and I'm sure those people in harm's way were warned. After all, it would take a heartless being to not warn them when one has the foreknowledge of such a disaster.

Hey, no one died, right? :flamed:

Around one hundred and sixty thousand people die every day, so that's completely incorrect. I read something else which was completely incorrect recently. If only I could remember what it was...

Curse this memory of mine.

Even by the shallow standards of failed prognosticators, the above is an embarrassingly poor attempt at weaseling out of a wrong prediction. Go check out some of the old Paul Bathke, Mayday and PeaceCrusader threads to see how it's done. They all failed too, but you have even failed at failing.
