New Iraqi flag!

the most troubling point about this new flag is not the color or style but rather the rushing into conferming it before iraqis appoint their new legal government or parlement. it is a national symbol that is suppose to represent iraqis rather they are finding themselves fighting against those who confermed it (i.e: the USA represented by CPA which is not the legal representative of iraqis)

Not only do Arabs hate jews, they hate THE COLORS jews use as well. I am not joking.

I think it should have a small US flag in the corner like most colonies do.

Name one "colony" with a small US flag in the corner.

Tony, you really need some Jedi training....patience becomes you not, young Padewan..;)

I think what questioninggellar was getting at is that there are about 20 some countries (albeit mostly small islands, but including Australia, Bermuda, and New Zealand, that incorporate the Union Jack in their national flags.

As for American influence, you are correct in that the US flag is not incorporated into any other (we weren't very good at the 19th century imperialism business, I'm afraid). However, it is worth noting that both Cuba and the Phillippines have flags using red, white and blue (albeit the Philippines has a nice yellow sun and stars included) as their predominant colors, and Liberia does follow the same general outline of the American flag, but with only one White Star in a blue field. And as these were the three countries the US were most identified with when it came to colonialization/imperialism....well, I guess it could be a coincidence.

You really do have to get out of the US and travel some, Tony...it will do you a world of good...:) :p

Thanks for the advice, but I already knew those facts. That's why I was surprised at the contention that there are countries in the world with little US flags in the corners when I KNOW that to be false.
