North Korea: One of the Happiest Places on Earth?

Shanghaiist reports that North Korea's Chosun Central Television recently came out with a happiness index compiled by local researchers. Their findings? China is the happiest place on the planet, earning 100 points (a perfect score!). At number two is none other than North Korea itself. Cuba, Iran and Venezuela (in that order) round out the top five.

The United States places dead last, coming in 203rd. South Korea is nearly just as depressed a nation; it ranks 152nd on the list. Some spots, North Korea's research indicates, are just nowhere near as smiley as the Axis of Evil.

The only reason that North Korea didn't top the list is that they occasionally feel a twinge of sadness for their poor benighted compatriots south of the border living under the thumb of Imperialist Yankees and their puppets. :D

New Portable Toothbrush Produced
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory turns out varieties of consumer goods.

Recently, it began mass-producing a new kind of portable toothbrush.

Dr. Ri Kyong Il, a workshop head of the factory, told KCNA that the toothbrush consists of case, brush and paste. The case is also used as the handle.

The new model is lower in production cost than other kinds of portable toothbrush.

The factory also produces antibiotic toothbrushes with nano-materials and functional materials.

I hate those non-portable toothbrushes. The heavy chains affixing them to the concrete block wall really suck and totally get in your way.

Tell already heavily indoctrinated people they are all very happy, and each one will begin to wonder why he/she is the only one who is unhappy. Then they will begin to feel guilt about being the only one who is unhappy. The guilt feelings lead to a desire to atone for their shortcomings. The atonement desires, combined with their grinding depression, makes them susceptible to be used in human wave assaults against heavily defended positions.

So all the happy-happy talk is nothing more than a cynical psychological ploy in their ongoing preparations for war.

And it is always good to suck up to China, especially in view of the fact that China has already pulled the Northies' chestnuts out of the fire the last time they went for it, and they are about to go for it again.

Clearly, the Northies foresee worldwide civilizational collapse looming. They seek to time their big attack to coincide with the collapse, so that they will end up owning the entire peninsula in the Brave New World that will surely follow.

This is a picture of me, a colleague, and an evidently happy couple, recently married, in Pyongyang, North Korea, circa 2006. I'm sure they're only happier now than they were 5 years ago.
 
Two extraordinarily happy North Koreans, an imperialist, and an imperialist lapdog. No WONDER North Korea is such a happy place. Yes - I supplied the Krug - why should Dear Leader get all the Schwag?
