Voting has begun in New Hampshire, and the (very) early results are in.

Romney, Huntsman tied at 2:2 in New Hampshire’s first vote

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. — The voters of this tiny hamlet, all nine of them, have spoken. Very briefly.

The polls opened here at midnight and closed less than a minute later, and the tally was final by 12:05 a.m. On the Republican side, Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman tied, with two votes each. Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul each got one vote. President Obama received his very first live votes of confidence — three of them.

There actually is also a Democratic party primary happening simultaneously, although it is mostly pro-forma. There may also be other other party primaries such as the Libertarian party, but these are mostly ignored by the news media.

Hey I voted! Huntsman, though I let the JREF forum decide how I was going to vote by poll. Also none of the candidates offered me chocolate to vote for them. Though I now wish I had voted for "Randy Crow". I didn't know he was on the ballot.

Chocolate would seal any deal. :-)

(Mind you, I would abstain because it is my #1 Migraine trigger. As a result, I haven't enjoyed any chocolate in over 25 years. I buy carob malted milk balls and pretend.)

Perry is hanging around at about 1% of the vote.

Prediction: He will not drop out after this. He's living large, has lots of money to throw around, and feels too important.

Right now, it is Romney, Paul and Hunstman, in that order. Mittens has a MASSIVE lead.

Yeah, he'll at least stay in till South Carolina. He basically wrote off New Hampshire and didn't even try to compete there.

Returns from the first 13 percent of the state's precincts showed Romney with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Paul with 24 percent and Huntsman with 18 percent.

Former House Speaker Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum had 10 percent and 9 percent respectively.
Somewhat interesting.

Romney now on tv giving 'projected winner' speech. I haven't seen stats on the runners-up.

As of 8:46 EST 22% reporting

Candidate|Votes|Percent
Mitt Romney|15,635|35.3%
Ron Paul|11,060|25%
Jon Huntsman|6,962|16.9%
Newt Gingrich|4,231|10.3%

No way that I would ever vote for any of the rerpublicon drongos, but it does my heart good to see Newt so far behind "Jon who?"

No way that I would ever vote for any of the rerpublicon drongos,
really?! who would have thunk it? I mean even somebody who has never read a previous post of yours could figure out that someone who picks 'leftysergeant' as his online handle probably is not inclined to vote Republican.

Not to mention that he, like the Newter, has a HUGE chip on his shoulder regarding Romney, it seems. I wouldn't put it past either of those guys to stay in it for no other reason than to take cheap shots at Romney.

I think we can say that the top three are Romney, Paul and Huntsman in that order. Santorum and Gingrich are pretty close to tied for fourth and fifth.
