New Bad Astronomer mp3

OK. I'm downloading it now. The directions are lacking. A lot of noise on that page with the actual file link in tiny text, and I didn't see the countdown timer the first time.

But I got it now.

ETA: Thanks!

Here is the BA blog entry about Mars that he refers to in the broadcast, with the accompanying photos.

Excellent, excellent interview.

I agree with the host that a BA/Hoagland Smackdown would be a great show. :D

I get the feeling sometimes that Phil doesn't realize he completely trounced his debate opponent. He has no idea just how good he is.

Oh. I thought all three files were the same thing. They aren't. The entire interview was split into three parts. I've only heard the first one.

Cool!

I propose a petiton post on here and on the babulletin board, to get phil to agree to a debate or discussion with hoagland. Anybodyelse like this or have a better way of doing it?

A poll topic would work. And I'm sure the overwhelming majority would vote in support of such a debate.

Bad Astronomer in the second part of the interview, talking about a planetarium show on black holes:

If any of the listeners are here or anywhere near Denver, go to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and go see the show. The graphics are incredible. I helped write one of the scenes.

Too bad for me I'm not near Denver.

Are these downloads still available? All I'm getting are 'Download-session invalid' messages.

I was talking to him about it at TAM. He said that the show will be in Denver exclusively for 6 months (I think that was the period of time he said) but will then be packaged for distribution to other observatories but that the observatories have to have really modern state-of-the-art systems. I hope it comes to Boston!

Yes, just checked it and the files are still there.. keep trying. I know it's a little strange, but not a bad service for free.

How do you get those files? When I click the "FREE" button, I then go to a page that says "You have downloaded 83464 KB. Want to download more?", but it never actually downloads.

You, Claus, can be a drongo at times. It's a name we call obstinant Danes.
