Need help with bit torrents- quick!

For some, yes. A few months ago my torents was 1 kb only, no matter how well seeded or number of peers. This is with encryption on. So I was searching for ways to increase my speeds. For some reason, the past couple of months the speed returned to normal. I am asking just in case my isp starts killing my speed again.

Oh, that kind of traffic shaping. Again, I have to say I don't know. Though if your ISP has it in for you, is there any solution?

I don't know - but you can run it at the same time and see if it's faster, or pause your current client and switch to Flashget exclusively. If it's no better, just resume with the current client.

As I understand it, Flashget uses a different approach to torrents than the actual torrent software, so you may see a big improvement.

It worked for me, where port forwarding didn't seem to be the solution but the ports always seemed to be the problem. Worth a try.
Thanks, I switched and it is working much quicker. It also picked up on most of my download. It is nice to see hours remaining havie only 2 digits.:) Thanks again.

I'm very interested whether there is.

Up until a few weeks ago I could use P2P any time without problem. Suddenly my ISP (TalkTalk - UK) started traffic shaping and I can now only use it in the small hours of the morning. Encryption makes no difference.

Am I doomed until I get a new ISP or is there a workaround?

I don't know what you can do to get around ISP traffic shaping. However, there's a lot of tech expertise around here, so you could start a new thread on it and see who bites. There may be a workaround.

My own ISP is fantastic, as it's a small, cable internet provider that only services apartment buildings. It doesn't have enough customers to need to throttle back on download rates, so sometimes it feels like I have the entire internets to myself.

But that's in Canada, so not much help...
