Kevin, your u-tubby link is broken.
I fail at the internet.
Let's try that again. Is Audacity of Jihad related to Audacity of Huge?
Kevin, your u-tubby link is broken.
I wish.
I've listened to the interviews of the people behind the building and they seem to be genuine in wanting to build a community center rather than a mosque. They came across as genuinely nice people trying to break some of the stigma and advocate tolerance. The bigoted backlash from the people opposed to the idea is ridiculous, and a bit depressing to be honest.
I think the idea behind the center is admirable, but it seems to me like it's an issue that shouldn't be pushed in such an emotionally charged area. I think it would cause a lot more trouble than its worth.
and only FASCIST governments tell a religious group where they can and cannot build a house of worship.
To justify the war in Mid-East, hey have a false flag terror attack on 911 .
To justify the war in Mid-East, hey have a false flag terror attack on 911 . The Muslim is accused as terrorist. Now they build a Mosque in WTO site to show how tolerant and fair they are. What a trick of propaganda.
This subject is part of the propaganda the ruler of this country to fool the people.
Obama is picked up to be president to show US is a democratic country. There is no racism, see, we have a black president. This is especially needed after US started its Mid-east war.
Mosque debate is the same tactic. See, how tolerance we are even they attacked us, we still build a mosque for them. This is especially needed when they are preparing another war - war on Iran.
What a false dichotomy! How about adding to your choices, or you could just recognize every Muslim is not sympathetic to or involved with the small extremist group of terrorists who are Muslim. Any religion that has over a billion people following it cannot possibly be homogeneous. Human nature precludes it.The problem as I see it is that people try to make you choose one of two ways: either Jihad is as white as snow, or else all Muslims are bastards. God knows I am no fan of Jihad, and mosques were, and are, used for what is in effect architectural triumphitalism. But that hardly means this mosque by this man is such a case.
So it would appear you are being more sensible now about this affair. That's great. Glad to hear it.So far, the evidence for his alleged radicalism is underwhelming. ...
It's shallow thinking to believe that the only reason to oppose the mosque there is "Islamophobia" or "hatred of Islam" or "thinking all Muslims are alike" or "have no respect for the Constitution". This is sheer nonsense.
People agree they people have a legal right to build the mosque, and that mosques per se are not a problem. The only argue that building a large mosque in this particular location is insensitive and hurtful. Why is this so hard to understand? ...
It's the location that is the problem, not the mosque or monastary (or those who worship there) itself.
So it's OK for Fox News to broadcast 24/7 their political message but the other broadcast companies are not allowed to have an opinion of what they air because they are somehow bound by free speech ethics to air a false, misleading, disgusting bigoted commercial against the entire Arab, Persian and Muslim world? So those in power only allow those in power to tell you which choices, from a limited set they define, that they will permit you to pick from?
Nice.
And the outrageousness of it is also getting it exposure time via news coverage.... But as we have seen, the internet is stepping in to fill the gap.
I agree.
Palin lost my admiration and support over this issue.
I wish.
