. . . To become the new president of the University of California.

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, is being named as the next president of the University of California system, in an unusual choice that brings a national-level politician to a position usually held by an academic, The Times has learned. Her appointment also means the 10-campus system will be headed by a woman for the first time in its 145-year history.

Replace her with a career LEO?

Head of a uni system IS a political station.

But why does she have to come to MY state?

She was a good Attorney General and a good Governor, she'll probably do very well as a university president.

SHe might find that International Terorrists were easy to deal with compared to the Students,Faculaty, and other Regents at the UC System.
Fun to watch all the Radicals in Berkely melt down over this, though.

Well, she did have a major stumble early on as head of Homeland Security when she repeated the myth that the 9/11 hijackers all crossed into the U.S. from Canada. That raised a few hackles north of the border.

You'd think the person in charge of Homeland Security would know better, but apparently not.

Look, Canada sent Bieber down here. If they'd do something as heinous as that, it's not much of a leap to suspect they had something to do with 9/11.

Yup, she finally woke up and realized she had the worst job in Washington...ever.

Her mantra through her career was that NOTHING bad could come as a result of criminal south to north border crossings. She knew better

There's no way that she wasn't aware of the illegal documentation market at 35th St and McDowell either

I always chalked it up that they don't shut it down, because its better to know where your enemies might be than to have them hiding for sure.

But for her to blame yet another thing on the canadian border? Typical for her track record
