Is this river in China, perhaps the Crimea River?

It's from "The Tick" comics from 1988. From your avatar and reply, I'll assume you're only familiar with the Fox cartoon.
Since I can't post URLs yet, just look up "The Tick (comic book)" on Wikipedia.

In issue #3, "Night of a Million-Zillion Ninja", The Tick trounces a butt-load of ninjas, and they get a lecture from their "foreman" afterwards:

Ninja Foreman: When the river encounters a rock, does it go through the rock, or does it flow around the rock?
Ninja #1: Yes.
Ninja #2: No.
Ninja #3: Maybe.
Ninja #4: Doesn't evaporation work into this somehow?
