Well, I'm back with a new power supply. Fortunately, nothing else fried in the machine. This time I'm using Antec Truepower. Before I had a Thermaltake Purepower.

When the old power supply was taken out pieces of cracked plastic rained out.

Bad capacitors is a fairly notorious problem in computers and power supplies.

There have been several rounds of poor capacitors causing problems in computers from many manufacturers.
