Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

I know that thousands of women totally depend on X to have a voice.
I read what interests me, and am delighted that Elon allows these women to have a platform.
I don't need to name them, blind Freddie knows who they are.
Other users of X are not my fascination.

You are freely admitting to deliberately blinkering yourself and only focusing on the bits of something you like.

This is staggeringly intellectually dishonest, especially when you keep trying to raise defenses of the thing as a whole.

You do realise that's what you're doing right? That you're explicitly saying "well x does this one good thing and I don't care about all the bad things it does, that doesn't interest me'?

Sure, X gives a platform to some women who wouldn't otherwise have one. But it also explicitly gives a platform to neo nazis and white supremacists, including one who posted violent child pornography, was banned for it but reinstated by Musk.

It allows the spread of bigoted hate speech but bans the use of the descriptor cisgender because Musk is a transphobe.

You know that isn't free speech right? That banning something that is not even remotely inflammatory or offensive because Musk doesn't like it means he isn't advocating free speech at all?

Then to compound this you post a lie about what the EU Internal Market Commisioner said and claim it's an attempt to block free speech. Then when it is pointed out that it's a lie, you just say 'I don't care'.

Staggering levels of intentional dishonesty there.

Lot's of people attempting to listen to the same stream is functionally equivalent to a DOS attack on a sufficiently creaky platform.
Exactly.

his website doesn't work and he doesn't know how to conduct an interview and he went ahead and did an interview on his website.
Well yes. But Mush is an excellent example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect in action.

I know that thousands of women totally depend on X to have a voice.
 Right.... Who are these mythical "thousands of women"?

I read what interests me, and am delighted that Elon allows these women to have a platform.
 Right, you live in yout little TwiX echo chamber where your transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic views are held by others.

I don't need to name them, blind Freddie knows who they are.

Twitter has been ordered to pay over €550,000 compensation to a former senior executive in its Irish-based operations in what is a record award by the Workplace Relations Commission for an unfair dismissal case.

Any update on that disabled guy fired for being disabled that Musk publicly made a point that it was his disability that he was firing him for.

Halli Thorleifsson? Musk was forced to publicly apologise (where he managed to confess that his product, Twittier, isn't very good for commutation) and behind the scenes no doubt launch confetti cannons of cash at Halli because Musk would have owed him literal billions of dollars if he quit. It was really funny

Did you get a laugh out of that too Sampson?

I didn't ask you about those things. Answer the question.

Do you think X should allow posts inciting meetups for violent attacks to remain on their platform?

I like how eager you are to believe un-named sources that say things you want to hear.

Keep that critical thinking going strong!

Do you know the best way to know it wasn't a DDOS attack? Musk in his tweet says, "Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners..."

That's...not how DDOS attacks work. The site, in this case the room or whatever the hell they're called, is either up or down in a DDOS attack. That's it. For those unfamiliar a DDOS attack just mimics a **** ton of users hitting the refresh button at the same time, overloading the webhost with requests that cause the site to crash. Note the end part, "cause the site to crash". Not "causing the site to have lower numbers of users".

Musk is full of ****, and since he said he tested the room with over 8 million users and it operated with out issue. There were less than 1 million in it at any given point time and that all points to Musk being a lying sack of donkey balls.

Billions?

I guess you have to live in a fairyland to take Musk's side.

Indeed billions - Hajji was on a "Do Not Fire" list at Twitter because when he sold his design company to them he took a wage rather than a lump sum - sacking him would mean that lump sum would have to be paid immediately. He took a wage because he wanted to pay more tax - something Musk wouldn't understand

It's worth following the thread

Basically Musk, hyped up by fanboys like our very own Sampson, made a huge, public and expensive mistake

That is not a good link to show Elon is insane. He is suggesting the dystopian overlords in the Hunger Games and so on are us.
He's comparing fictional dystopias - designed by there authors to look b ad - with the real World. Also, in the real World, he - a man whose wealth is built on government contracts and government subsidies - is part of the establishment, not one of the rebels.

Don't know if I got this link from here already.

Elon is insane. That's OK, except he has a dangerous amount of influence.

My guess is the grifts have stopped working and banks are looking at calling in their loans and Musk is suffering from a stress related breakdown as a result.

Yes he was always a far right frat boy, but he usualy kept a lid on the worst of the craziness to keep the grift going, but these days that control is out the window.

He may be paying out a lot more money - for copyright issues....

...snip...

"Grok is the most fun AI in the world!" Musk tweeted today. And if the definition of "fun" is a machine-gun wielding Donald Trump flying a plane into the World Trade Center, or various examples of Nazi-related imagery, then sure! These are just a couple of the tropes that are appearing throughout X right now.

It is quite telling that yet again what he says is not what he does. He is one of the alarmists about AI and about how we have to keep tight control, and he goes and does the opposite.
