Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

As is your right, and as has been mentioned before by others.

But its an entirely appropriate and completely accurate insult for someone who seems to consider that his particular expertise in extremely limited areas ("I know more about manufacturing than anyone currently alive on earth") enables him to pontificate on other areas in which he has demonstrably zero knowledge.

He comes across as an ignorant bigot with delusions of grandeur, which is exactly what he is.

If the Galaxy Brain comment was inappropriate or inaccurate, I could understand where you are coming from.

But its not.

Just to be clear, Space Galaxy Brain Karen's assessment of his own knowledge of manufacturing is just as false as his assessment on almost anything.

For what it's worth, we're using "galaxy brain" subversively. It began life as an earnest term of admiration for someone.

I don't know if Elon's personality cultists had a habit of using it specifically, but they definitely love to claim that he is a genius whenever the opportunity arises.

Dwarf galaxies are a thing.

And if you know the Greek etymology of the word it suggests Elon Musk's head is filled with milk. Which went off quite a few years ago.

Hero worship is a hell of a drug. We have one person on this forum who would buy Elon Musk’s bottled piss if he sold it on Twitter.

I think the first use of "galaxy brain" was by Marvin, the Paranoid Android from The Hitch Hikers' Guide to the Galaxy.

No wait. Marvin only had a brain the size of a planet.

Here's another one

What a guy!

Elon Musk
@elonmusk

The Woke Stasi

Quote

End Wokeness
@EndWokeness
BREAKING: UK authorities will round up and charge citizens who RETWEET any material deemed as "inciting hatred"

Preventing incitement of hatred and violence is "woke" now?

What a weirdo Musk is.

It always made me wonder where he kept it. I mean, some kind of dimensional pocket focused in his own metal head would be completely in tune with the kind of things the setting allows, but they never seem to actually say.

This thread is fiercely opposed to free speech.

It is near pure free speech. Not way Elon can edit, erase nor silence the voices of each individual.
Each is free to state an opinion that others may or may not agree with.
Praise him or poo all over him it's all permitted to stay.

Strangely Elon is slowly sinking another site he owns that that clearly does not tolerate well any opposing voice to his glory and whizdumb.

You really don’t have to have a galaxy brain or be a commercial genius to figure out that having your brand associated with far-right sympathisers is probably not good for business.

I suppose it depends on how many far-right sympathisers there are.

The Trump brand for instance doesn't seem to have suffered much. I suppose both the X and Tesla brands have more to lose because they don't (currently) rely on the far right for their income and would suffer considerably in the event of a withdrawal of support by liberals.

Yes, most people do get upset when someone they admire gets insulted when they don't feel he should be. I think everyone understands that.

1) I’m not “upset” in the least.

2) I DO admire many of Musk’s accomplishments, while stipulating he often piggy-backed off the initial and continuing work of others. This post is going out via StarLink satellites from our E TN home where other online options were either problematic or nonexistent. Our Tesla is a joy to drive and has been virtually maintenance free over 2 1/2 years and 60,000+ miles.

3) I find Musk’s current positions and opinions on many topics reprehensible.

4) “Galaxy brain” joins “Repugnicans” and “Demonrats” as markers for me tending to dismiss what follows. Childish name calling seems to be especially out of place on a skeptic’s forum, where I come for reasoned dialog, and everyone here should know that ad hominem attacks weaken, not strengthen someone’s argument.

But That’s Just Me™️. So carry on if you like.

i don't think you see the extent of the damage of the brand until after trump loses the election. i think it's obvious the trump brand is more like a ponzi scheme propped up by foreign money and the ultra wealthy trying to buy political favor mixed with a bunch of fraud.

but i do think, like a lot of tech companies and really the stock market in general, musks companies are also over valued. but not nearly to the extent of something like truth social.

2.5 years and 60k? That's not all that impressive I guess. I have a Toyota Tacoma that's the same thing but anyway, you're basically proving my point. Musk makes your life better and you've, at times, been bothered by anyone that talks trash about his companies. You've talked about your tesla stocks several, several times, and it's no secret you're invested, both financially and in every day life, in Musk and his products. That it bothers you when someone mocks the person who provides you with, as you've pointed out, a significant part of your luxuries isn't surprising.

3) I find Musk’s current positions and opinions on many topics reprehensible.

Right, it's just a topic you're not generally as outspoken about in comparison to all of the things you like about him. For instance, compare this statement to #2. You said, "he says bad things" but type a whole paragraph explaining how great he makes your life. The man relishes in furthering conspiracies and talking **** about people all of the time. Including insulting anyone who disagrees with him, but for some reason you aren't bringing that up here.

4) “Galaxy brain” joins “Repugnicans” and “Demonrats” as markers for me tending to dismiss what follows. Calling a person a name isn't always an ad hominem if you're attacking their positions in the same breath. I mean, it IS bit it's not JUST an ad hom, it is also attacking the argument.

That's not least to say that the term "galaxy brain" defines Musk to a T. I just pulled this from the internets:

A “galaxy-brain” is Internet slang for ideas/thoughts that are enigmatic, perplexing, or otherwise unfathomable

Gee, who does that sound like?

i thought galaxy brain was like mockingly saying 4d chess, where's it's making fun of people who, when presented with some pretty clear evidence the guy has said or done something stupid, imply it must be part of some master plan we can't understand because he's just so successful and somebody that successful can't be stupid. yeah, he owns starlink. why is that an i win button?
