Here is a link.

I am posting this to

- lament all casualties.
- support the responding emergency and police personnel.
- make no assumptions about attacker motives.
- make no initial comment on guns.
- hope for the best.

Let's hope this one ends soonest, and I hope it is simply some poor crazy, with no discernible ideology, rather than any other of the types of events we've been seeing in the news.

I hate Summer 2016.

What shooting spree, Checkmite?
Did you actually read the article in the Austin American Statesman, on line?
Two different incidents. The ABC news report link is here.

One shooting was somewhere after 2AM on Sixth street. That is where the fatality and some serious injuries occurred, though oddly enough, one person who was injured refused treatment. (huh???)

The other incident was in a parking garage, and that person was apprehended, thanks to some local citizens getting him under control.

It's Dirty Sixth.

Actually, the early local reported asserted the man was injured in a physical altercation but was not shot. It's more likely in my mind that if he were shot then he would be detained by police as a witness at very least to attempt recovering the projectile with a clean chain-of-custody.

Lucky for him it was local citizens and not cops

I'm glad I don't live in a country where someone starts talking about a shooting incident and then there is confusion over which shooting incident they're talking about.

The after mathe discussion about which gun and bullets were used and their capable damage beats it imho

And yet crime is at forty-year lows in the U.S. Why, it's almost as if media sensationalism is making things seem worse than they might actually be...

It may be down, but gun deaths and injuries are still way higher in the US than in any other developed country.

Sure, it's down. It's down from ridiculously ludicrously high to only ludicrously high. Good work.
