Are you saying Mueller has set Barr up for failure? That's what I get from your post. IMO Mueller has delivered what he was supposed to deliver. From here, let Barr go where his ethics guide him. I'm not quite sure what this problem that you posit is supposed to be.

The Senate GOP has seemed to tolerate any number of leaks coming from Republicans, and they still control that chamber of Congress, so it is unlikely that Democrats would bother initiating any impeachment proceedings. They know it would be futile.

Now, if a Republican effort to impeach someone for "covering up for Trump" were to take place things might end up differently, but that isn't very likely either.

Alternate Theory - Filed Under L for Less Crazy.....

Barr did the job he was hired to do, obfuscate and minimize the results coming from Mueller. I'm sure he justifies it with his philosophy that is throughout his C.V. - the President Can Do No Wrong.

Now, the admin knows their time is limited so the Trump Family Noise Machine is doing six shows nightly, backed up by the Sold My Soul Singers, plugging their hit single, "No Collusion, Losers!" The DoJ and the administration will buy as much time as they can, knowing that the full report is going to get out and it ain't gonna look quite so good for Trump as his lackie, Barr, has made it sound. The longer they delay, the more stumps he and Junior and Eric can climb on and lead the crowd in "Collusion Delusion!" chants. It's all about marketing the lie to the willful cretins who support him.
 
Republicans should rip the band-aid off - the longer they delay, the more the Mueller report will leak into the 2020 elections.
And maybe then Rupert Murdoch will decide that he doesn't want to go down with the ship after all.

Well, it's a scam with precedent. There was no "on line" at the time but Bantam sold a million copies of their "The Pentagon Papers".

You can't copyright a public document, but you can copyright your book "The Mueller Report WITH INTRODUCTION BY XXXXXXX". This is why you'll see competing publishers. Skyhorse obviously made a deal with Amazon. Dershowitz is in the Skyhorse skystable. His arguments against impeaching Trump were published by them.

Obviously? Have you seen the report? So far, only Barr and Mueller's team have seen the report. Why would you expect Mueller to speak out?

If the DOJ argues that some rule or policy enables the executive branch to hide the results of a criminal investigation of the President from the House, that rule or policy is unconstitutional, given that the Constitution gives the House full impeachment power.

Barr has already proven himself to be untrustworthy: He has taken it upon himself to try to do both Mueller's job and Congress's job in a transparent attempt to protect the lying grifter who obviously appointed him for that very purpose. Only a trumper or a fool would trust Barr to do any "legally necessary" redactions. I don't know why this has to be said dozens of times, but the only thing he can't give Congress without a court order is the grand jury evidence, and getting that approval would likely just be matter of asking a court for it, which Barr apparently doesn't intend to do. No matter; the committee itself can ask a court for it and Barr will be out of lame excuses. Barr is just playing for time, and in the end it just makes this sleazy administration look even sleazier and more dishonest.

I suppose that "submitted" is a better term here. Just pointing this out in case others misinterpret what you wrote, perhaps deliberately.

There's no real point in arguing over whether it's stealing or not. We're talking about unauthorized access to data acquired by hacking and then disclosing the same. This is not leaking, which involves unauthorized sharing of information the person was authorized to have.

So long as we focus on the difference between hacking and leaking, we don't need to get into questions about whether hacking is theft.
 
For comparison it took three days from when the Starr report was submitted to when it was released.

No one should care what such "conservatives" think, and no one should waste much time trying to change it. The key to 2020 will be convincing a sufficient number of people to consider that the ethical and moral blight we have in the White House and the Senate now is because elections have consequences.

NOT about getting a blowjob. About LYING UNDER OATH about said blowjob. Testifying honestly when under oath is fundamental to our entire system of justice. You can argue whether said lying should have risen to the level of an impeachable offense. But not that it was about a blowjob.

Well, I care. We're all in this boat together, and if some of us are untethered to reality because of political nonsense, we need to call it out somehow.

I just wish there was a way through.
