Is that the dossier with only one as-yet unsubstantiated allegation?

Not only that, the dossier wasn't released during the election, it was made public by Buzzfeed on Jan 10, 2017. The FBI didn't tell anyone about the Russia investigations until after the election. At most the dossier and Trump's Russia contacts were rumours and speculation, much of which was created by his own changing stories about his relationship with Putin and Russia. Thus the dossier and the investigations didn't have any effect on him in the elections.

Rachel Maddow is the liberal heir to Glenn Beck's chalkboard.

Pretty sure that Beck's notably worse. Maddow is indeed something of a mixed bag, though. A lot of good stuff, but not all of it's good.

Maddow isn't saying the Democrats can't send the documents. She's saying that the committee can't function at all -- in effect, doesn't exist -- until the Republicans appoint members. I dunno whether that's true, but it sounds like it's about more than the transcripts.

I know what she's saying. The basis that the claim rests on seems to have been quite elusive, though, despite a bunch of people searching. With all that said, it looks like the Republicans have been officially selected now... though 14 names for the minority is rather problematic, so... there may well be more shenanigans to come as 5 of those names will likely need to disappear.

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s personal attorney, went on a media tear this weekend, giving interviews on the Trump Tower Moscow project. He said discussions continued all the way until election day in 2016, but this contradicts Trump’s public statements saying he hadn’t been involved in the proposed project at all. Giuliani later clarified his statements, saying he was just practicing “alternative arguing,” as he does in court, to explain that even if the president had those conversations leading up to the election, it wouldn’t be illegal. Co-host Ken White analyzes whether Giuliani’s public appearances are so bad that they’re undermining President Trump, or whether they’re so bad they’re not hurting President Trump at all.

Alternate theory.

Is it at all possible that Rudy Giuliani -- America's Mayor, the man who successfully prosecuted Mafia Dons in the 1980s, then went on to put Ivan Boesky and Michael Milken in prison -- is it conceivable he is secretly repulsed by the Poor Little Rich Boy and is practicing passive-aggression? Deliberately greasing the skids under Donnie with the aim of seeing him wind up serving a sentence in a white-collar prison, a disgraced former U.S. president?

I lived in New York City when Rudy was our Mayor. He's a complicated guy. I'm not really sure I buy his bumbling senior citizen lawyer routine. One thing I learned about Giuliani, he always has ulterior motives.

Something wrong with this list.

At least Gowdy, Rooney, and Ros-Lehtinen are no longer in the House.

ETA: neither are LoBiondo, and Westmoreland.

...about all of the one sided Fake Media coverage (collusion with Crooked H?) that I had to endure during my very successful presidential campaign. What about the now revealed bias by Facebook and many others. Roger Stone didn’t even work for me anywhere near the Election!

WITCH HUNT!

I have to admit, it does appear a venerable American institution has been revealed as a complete fount of misinformation, a purveyor of a constant stream of outright lies, twisting and turning facts and reality into a one-sided torrent of malicious deceptions designed to fool the gullible and unwary. That the dishonesty has risen to a level that this institution will be forever damaged and degraded in the eyes of the American public.

I refer of course, to the American presidency. :(

Using the Wayback Machine, it appears that the contents of the Majority and Minority pages were swapped on January 4, but that the people listed in the pages have not actually been updated.

Not sure where to put this Roger Stone porn but of course I have to share it. :p

It came up on Weekend Update on SNL.

NSFW

I wouldn't have posted this trash if it hadn't been said on SNL. I figure it will come up in some discussions in the next day or so.

I am confused as to how the WSJ ended up with Stone's emails.

Was there a leak from the investigation? More hacking? Inquiring minds want to know!

Giuliani was involved in the NY FBI bureau's leaks which led to the public announcement of the FBI investigation into Clinton, which is widely believed to have given Trump the election. If he's secretly anti-Trump, then he's got a damned odd way of showing it.

False

Giuliani is a complicated guy. If he's trying to torpedo Trump he has an odd way of doing it? That's putting it mildly. From the previous post to which I was responding:

He said discussions continued all the way until election day in 2016, but this contradicts Trump’s public statements saying he hadn’t been involved in the proposed project at all.

Giuliani has done this several times, made statements that are damaging to Trump. Then he always walks them back but the damage has been done, the statements are out there. Was Giuliani involved in the FBI leaks in October 2016 regarding the Clinton investigation? Only indirectly:
In one particularly memorable example, on November 4, Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani told Fox News part of the reason for Comey’s announcement was that “there’s a revolution going on inside the FBI and it’s now at a boiling point,” and that “I know that from former agents. I know that even from a few active agents.” Link

I think the reality is, the leaks were happening independently, Giuliani added fuel to the fire but it was not a process he could have stopped. Who did he dislike more? Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? Which one would be better for Rudy, if he was hoping to get a high-level appointment from the new president? He's a complicated guy.
