Mueller's goal might indeed be nothing more than telling the GOP that, yes, their candidate was put in the Oval Office by Putin. That multiple people in and around the campaign worked with Moscow to hurt the Clinton campaign and help Trump. That hacking, information and money was used illegally to influence the election.
And since Mueller is supposedly such a straight-shooter, he might leave it at that.

Looks to me like Mueller is taking down Trump by getting his associates to all sing like birds. Mueller doesn't have to directly investigate Trump, he only has to investigate his associates, charge them with crimes, and get them to accept a plea deal to avoid jail time. And then, one by one by one, getting them to share any and all inside info they have on Trump... Russian collusion related or not.
Trump most likely won't get nailed for Russian collusion (too difficult to prove), instead they're going to get him on tax fraud or money laundering or something along those lines from all the info they're going to be gathering from his songbirds.

I'm not familiar with how laws work in the US, but I'm assuming that anyone with criminal charges under their belt can't run for president ? So if Trump gets any kind of criminal charges thrown at him, he won't be able to run for reelection in 2020 ?

As long as you meet the Constitutional requirements for eligibility, you can run for House, Senate, or President no matter what your criminal record may be.

There is nothing in the constitution that prevents a felon from running for congress or president. (Heck, there have been people who have run for office while IN prison.)

I just read the 17 pages. Well, skimmed it. I skimmed it looking for all the "kompromat" for lack of a better word, that was supposed to be in there. It was all legalese and what seemed to be a MSWord document where all one needs to do is plug in the relevant names and numbers.

Agreed, but still, I think the FBI should extend protection to Manafort's family if it does look like Putin maight try to take action.
During the COld War, there was a sort of unofficial agreement, which ,amazing enough was generally observed, that violent actions on your opponent's home soil were forbidden. I am afraid that Putin will throw that out the window.it has has not already done so with those mysterious deaths of exiles in several Western European countries.

Since you asked so nicely; I've actually answered this before more than once in the thread. I've said I haven't made up my mind yet. There are too many variables remaining to give an accurate outcome prediction IMHO.
Some of those variables include important documents that have been stonewalled for months. Also, whether or not Assange gets immunity for testimony. Another variable could be Rosenstein getting fired/replaced which may change the fate of the investigation. Another could be, it finishes up and we get to see the facts and documents.
If you want me to guess on some things sure. If key documents are not handed over, they will be declassified by the president. Also, if they are not handed over some officials may have a small future at their job/post. Will Trump fire Mueller? Nope. But there may be some resignations or firings that happen either at his direction or others involved (like rosenstein, depending on his actions with these documents, and what they reveal)
What if Assange gets immunity to testify as to the source of the files? What if others have information that can authenticate or verify that source?
There are a lot of variables still at play, that we do not have the facts on just yet. We do know from Admiral Rogers report in april of 2016 that there were irregularities with unmasking, and in database upstream searches. We know some of that continued. (samantha powers?) Does the fact that Obama officials had a stand down order effect this? Does the fact that no evidence to date ties this to Trump effect this? (we will see with time if some is produced) Does it matter that private entities hired by opposition parties presented the bulk of evidence (allegedly according to nunes memo) used to obtain the fisa warrants? Does Feinstein having (unknowingly?) hired a chinese spy effect any of this? Which side is lying? Both parties cannot be being honest here...

More questions than answers. I think making a prediction now is presumptuous at best. Many people also seem to be willing to dismiss things that could be quite plausible. (due to media?) A lot of misdirection, from both sides.
