Scientologist,
There is a little history here as to my presence. I did not come uninvited to convert anybody to what I believe. My intent is always to discuss and learn. I have read most of the work here and understand the arguments well.
So I will summarize my beliefs briefly so you can direct your arguments as you wish by subject matter.
Russell:
Thanks for your thoughtful response. I apologize for being rude.
That said, let's begin.
I have a few questions for you to start.
1. Do you believe there were hijackers on board the flights?
2. Do you believe the phonecalls made on that morning were faked?
3. Do you believe that the planes were switched out?
4. Do you believe that the passengers are still alive or met another fate besides the one offered in the official story?
5. Do you believe the "hijackers" are still alive?
6. Do you believe the Bin Laden videotape is fraudulent?
7. How many people/agencies MINIMUM do you believe would have to be kept silent/paid off, etc to keep a lid on 9/11?
8. Do you believe firefighters made the decision to pull building 7 and, if so, were they in on the conspiracy as well?
9. Were the Bali bombings, 7/7 bombings, and 3/11 bombings also products of the US government?
10. Do you believe Al Qaeda is a terrorist organization that would like to have international muslim law?
Thank you.
To reply to your post:
1) I believe there is historical precedent that elements within our government have been willing to self inflict damage to further a larger set of goals.
1. Are you referencing Project Northwoods?
2. Can you provide specific incidents that are backed with factual evidence?
3. When you say "elements within our government," can you please tell me who you are referring to?
4. Can you define "larger set of goals" in the context of 9/11. I'm assuming you are talking about the WOT and PNAC, but I wouldn't want to prescribe your theories for you.
5. Can you tell me what, specifically, makes you BELIEVE this to be true? In order to accept something not just as theory but as belief (in my mind) there must be an event, a policy decision, something that would have you not trust our government to the point where you will believe (without evidence) that they would do something like 9/11.
2) I believe that there is evidence of foreknowledge of 9/11.
1. Can you please show evidence of this assertion. A memo among countless other memos declaring that bin laden is determined to strike in an unknown location in the U.S is not proof enough for me, sorry.
3) I believe at the very least it was facilitated by elements within our current administration.
1. Facilitated is an interesting choice of words. Please define it in your own context.
2. What proof do you have that would lead you to believe this? Sorry, not trusting your government is not enough.
4) I believe it has been the subject of a significant cover up.
5) I believe that according to recent polls that I am within a high percentage of the population that feels we have not been told the truth.
1. I grouped those together because #5 is pretty much inconsequential. First of all, polls are hardly scientific evidence. Second, even if those polls WERE realistic depictions of US opinion, it PROVES nothing except that people are willing to believe just about anything because of flashy videos and cute tshirts.
2. What proof do you have that anything has been covered up for the reasons you indicate they have been covered up for. As many might suggest, a coverup could be to cover someone's ass (Tenet) for not being fully prepared to counter an attack on 9/11/01. Remember, these peoples' job is to protect us and they failed miserably. Would you not consider that to be a good enough reason to "cover up?"
With that said, some of my beliefs are subjective but can be supported with evidence I find compelling. Some of the technical details can be argued either way effectively.
I have done more work than our government to demonstrate the reality of a plane hitting the Pentagon. The logical assumption is that they don't feel a burden to prove anything since it is obvious. My point here is that I feel they don't want to dispel the myths about it because it serves as a great distraction from other points. I can only say that if I were the decider I would have made everything clear 5 years ago when all this stuff started. If for no other reason than respect for the families and victims. I would have released everything that was not related to national security and not even given us CT's a leg to stand on. But the fact that they have sequestered all of the hard evidence away and purposefully perpetuated the myth allowing everything we see today is suspicious. On the State department website they even link to rense.com to prove a plane hit the building instead of releasing the pictures themselves.
I have no problem wearing the title "CT" since it is technically the position I hold. I do however differentiate between myself and what I refer to as the "hard core CT".
1. Where is this "compelling evidence?"
2. Doing your part to prove that a plane hit the pentagon is a courageous act in a sea of CT'ers. I applaud you. However, its sad that such research would be necessary considering the DNA evidence found at the pentagon.
3. Why should the government be appeasing nutjob conspiracy theorists? As far as I'm concerned, I would much rather them put their energies elsewhere... like disturbing the next terror attack.
4. What evidence was sequestered? Please provide proof and elaborate. Analysis is nice.
5. I'm glad that you differentiate yourself from anti-semites. As far as I'm concerned, though, if you really dislike the way your government operates, you should be active in matters that really exist as opposed to trying to prove remote controlled planes, not terrorists, did 9/11.
You're a respectable guy and I'm sorry I jumped the gun on you but you're still a fruitcake.
