My personal favorite that actually involves Jones being an idiot was just after Thanksgiving two years ago, some buddy of Alex calls in and says that the Marines are out in force at the local Toys 'R' Us. So Alex starts frothing about how this is all a plot to get us used to seeing them at our shopping centers and stuff so we won't revolt when they take over. Alex's buddy says that the Marines have heard of him, and we can hear one guy saying "We love Alex Jones." So they get that Marine on the line and Alex asks him what they're doing out there. The Marine says "We're collecting Toys for Tots." Alex goes into a minute-long rant about what they're really doing, at the end of which, the Marine says, somewhat nonplussed, "I don't know about all that. We're out here collecting Toys for Tots."
But the all-time best moment was when I got an idea of what kind of man listens to Alex Jones. A guy calls in and he's talking about how much he likes Ron Paul, he really wants to help Ron Paul out. He's coming into an inheritance soon and he wants to donate it to Ron Paul. His uncle, you see, had died in an airplane crash and left him millions, and he wants to send Alex some documents....
As it happens, I was listening to this a day or two later on a MP3 player while riding my bike through a local park, and everybody around me was looking around at the idiot laughing his head off as he pedaled through the park. Jones quickly blew the guy off and went to commercial. When he comes back he starts talking about that "Nice guy who was just on the phone, who thinks he's going to receive a bunch of money from those people in Nigeria, it ain't gonna happen."
Of course, the amusing thing to me was that's Alex Jones' competition; email fraudsters.
