Most boring email ever...ever

I've always wanted to give a fallacy name to that species of self-contradictory argument, which I hear too often on the Internet, that goes something like "I read in the Washington Post that [some nefarious thing is supposedly happening]. HOW COME THE NEWS MEDIA ISN'T REPORTING ON THIS???"

Ah, the MJD1982 argument that the MSM covered up the collapse of WTC7 by publishing a story on it on the front page of the New York Times, and you can tell they covered it up well because 50% of the population think there was something suspicious about it.

Agumentum ad taurum excretum.

Have you tried reading the "Propaganda model" thread? It involves similar logic.

Edit: Apparently great minds think alike. And possibly I should try reading the whole thread before posting.

And here am I, a Vietnam era veteran, in the mid 70's ready and willing to 'fight' for my country and our freedom. And Mr Tenet receiving a Medal of Honor. I remember throwing up again somewhere, probably without a visit to the toilet.

I'm sure this has been pointed out before, but... why does he say Tenet got the Medal of Honor? To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Tenet did not serve in the military. Or if he did, he did nothing to deserve the highest military award there is.

In one sentence, he says Medal of Freedom; the next, Medal of Honor. Yeah. CLEARLY a sharp military guy we got here, yup, yessirree. [/sarcasm]

At least he didn't call it the Congressional Medal of Honor, as there is no such thing. That is one of my pet peeves.
