I wonder if there are any 'throw the bums out!' types amongst the Democrats in currently Republican districts? Or is this only a Republican/Tea Party thing for 2010?

He certainly inherited more than he bargained for from his predecessor in many ways. I don't see how John McCain would be doing much/any better at this point if the election had gone the other way.
 
If the Economy was in a stronger recovery, The GOP would be looking at only modest gains.
 
Yup, for all the ranting on the part of the pundits about Tea Party this & that, it's still the economy, stupid ;)

She's a Catholic, why does'nt she become a Nun?
On second though, I doubt any of the Major Orders would want somebody that bizarre as a member.....
 
Ms. O'Donnell really intrigues me (no, not in that way). Her body language is a treasure trove of mixed emotions, almost all in the extreme: sincerity (she really believes she's "correct"), disdain (watch her face closely every time she turns it slightly to the right when speaking, particularly her eyes and mouth), an appeal of some sort (the earnest-ness of a religious proselytizer), and the slow, metered speech patterns of someone who is trying to calculate everything that they say to avoid saying anything "wrong" (typical of politicians, and it's what often gives people the impression they're always lying). None of this is really news to anyone reading reports and cross-talk about her erratic past or questionable claims, but it's fascinating watching this play out with her in her television appearances as they happen in her mind. She's really struggling with this, and doesn't seem to play the "catch-phrase bingo" that Palin does or have the "bury them with words" trick down that other politicians tend to fall back on.

Personally, I think if the campaign against her goes negative she very well might win this election. She's got her act together enough to pretend at politics (which is half an act anyway), and she seems just small enough that if the dogpile on her gets too much she'll appeal to the common American sympathy or the underdog without even trying hard (the whole anti-establishment game is precisely that).

She's been shacked up with her campaign manager/boyfreind for the past few years in a townhouse financed by contributions.
 
I thought Tea Partiers were against professional politicians? This woman has made her living running for office. I guess you can't really call her a professional politician because she never wins.
 
You know, now that I think about it some more, this could blow back on the Tea Party folks. Whether she wins or loses the Senate seat (most likely loses), now that O'Donnell and all of her financial dirty laundry are in the spotlight, it's going to make a lot of people yammering on and on about fiscal responsibility who are supporting her look pretty stupid once the inevitable investigations into O'Donnell's alleged misuse of campaign funds begin. I think Karl Rove sees this coming from a mile away, and he knows it isn't going to make those in the GOP/TP look good - which is probably why he continues to speak out on the issue.

My point is that even after she loses in November, Ms. O'Donnell could very likely continue to be an albatross around the GOP/TP's neck. Serves them right, I say.
