Although the study relied on the PCHR’s raw data throughout, our analysis of this data disproves the PCHR’s claims regarding “indiscriminate Israeli fire” on civilian areas. In fact, by checking the names on the PCHR list against Hamas websites, we found that many of those claimed by PCHR to be “civilians” were in fact hailed as “militant martyrs” by Hamas. Others listed by PCHR as “civilians killed in Israeli raids” later turned out to be Fatah members killed by Hamas, some of them in “execution style” killings.

Gotta love that last bit, Hamas uses the opportunity to kill off some political rivals, useful idiots in the west blame their deaths on Israel.

While Hamas and its allies did everything possible to maximize the extent to which the civilian population of the Gaza Strip would be exposed to combat should Israel respond in force to cross-border missile attacks on Israeli towns, a closer look at the demographics of the casualties reveals that at least 63% to 75% of the Palestinians killed in Operation Cast Lead were combat-aged males over and above the number that would be accounted for by random Israeli attacks.

And I have some sympathy for the Ku Klux Klan's bombing of Black churches, insofar as it was demonstrating their anger at the nasty federal government intefering with states' rights.

So what was the hypocrite doing fighting Russians in Afghanistan? What right did bin Laden have to be interfering in Afghani-Soviet affairs? Afghanistan is not his country. Russia is not his country. Then the meddler tried to dictate the foreign policy of his own country, and got disowned. The narcissistic interventionist has been sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong for decades, until just recently, when his nose was shot off.

Who is worse - the (now nose-less) hypocrite, or his vicarious sympathizer? Let's find out.

bikerdruid, you have "some" sympathy for bin Laden's cause. How much sympathy? What percentage of al Qaeda's kills do you feel sympathy for? A rough estimate will be sufficient. Or you could specify precisely what type of al Qaeda kills you support. For example, you might not be sympathetic toward market and mosque bombings, but you might feel great sympathy toward the killing of "little Eichmanns", just for an example. No need to be coy. Come on out of the closet. Be yourself. If you won't stand up for what you believe, then you're just taking up space.

It's a 100% accurate post. Any party in an armed conflict has responsibilities to protect the civilians in areas it controls. When said party takes up fighting positions amongst civilians they are responsible for any civilian deaths which result, not the party which attacks them.

Hamas want and do kill civilians then that is criminal and sick. Trying to justify Israel killing civilians is sick. I guess because they are muslims there are other standards to apply.

Just to be clear here - and i'm not a bin laden supporter or sympathiser - but are you saying that a countries domestic policy should never be interfered with by people from other countries? Because a certain Gee Dubya Bush would most certainly disagree.

It's alright if a person does something like that, it's only bad when a government does it. Or so they say.

So if we take what's his name, that Argentinian guy who made a big splash in Cuba, it's good, but it the Argentinian government had decided to kick a little capitalist ass, then it would have been regime change, bad.
