Moon Landing - Where were you?

Being all of 10 days old at the time, I do not recall first hand, I am told I was propped up so I could see the TV and watched intently.

I was 14 days old.

A little early but happy birthday, and I will add, from my limited experience, 40 seems a whole lot like 39 so far.

Eleven months old and living in Quezon City, Philippines. My parents and I listened to the landing on the radio. They remembered it. I did not.

What a present - Apollo 11 on my 11th birthday. I watched most of it but remember going to bed before it was done due to a headache from too much ice cream and cake.

It's nice of NASA to throw me a big party every 10 years or so!

A local radio guy I was friendly with here was born on the date of the landing. He feels the same way.

I was 9 years old and my family was in the middle of the '69 trip "out West".
I recall pulling into a small gas station for a snack-break - maybe somewhere in AZ. or N. Mexico, and there was a small t.v. on, replaying the entire landing; probably a local CBS affiliate. I was awestruck; why were we missing this?! It was even better than watching re-runs of Lost in Space!

I had just turned five years old a couple of weeks prior, so I don't remember much. I do remember, a few years later, having a big Saturn V model kit.

Ha! In my family of 12, we drank Tang (maybe a *little* over watered) because it was a lot cheaper than real OJ.

My parents LIED to me??????????????????? Now I am scarred. I'm going out right now to buy a case of Tang. Do they still make the stuff?

This morning on "The View," Whoopi Goldberg celebrated the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11 by sharing a little cup of crazy. Noting that she's a fan of "Capricorn One," the 1978 film about a faked landing on Mars, she goes on to offer a few favorites from the conspiracy theorist handbook: "Who shot the footage?" she asks, and no, she doesn't appear to be kidding. "Why is the flag rippling? There's no air." Barbara Walters gently redirects her with the patience of a woman who spent years arguing with Star Jones, but the brief segment makes two things clear: Whoopi is apparently a little more unhinged than we realized.

What an idiot.

I was 10, at the Angulo's house in Cuernavaca, Mexico watching it in really bad blobs of white and black on a small TV, could not see anything.

I really remember the Xmas Apollo and Skylabs, and the shuttle things (some really sad). I really remember watching the Voyager flyby of Neptune and the Berlin wall rallies!

I was at army cadet camp watching on a small b&w tv in a large room filled with other cadets. I was around 6 pm local time so daily duties and dinner were done for the day. Strangely, I seem to recall the "one small step" image to have been much clearer that the unedited original image that I have seen several times this week. I guess this is another example of one's long term memory embellishing things over time.
