Greetings all.

In an effort to break up the monotony of this subforum, I, a long-time lurker have decided to post something a little different.*

The Diana Conspiracies have been briefly discussed here before, but today was Mohammed Al-Fayed's (Harrods owner and father of Dodi, who also perished in the crash) day in court.

h t t p : / / news. bbc. co. uk /1/hi/uk/7250002.stm

For those who are new to this, he has long maintained that Diana and Dodi were murdered by a 'Secret Cabal' answering to The Duke Of Edinburgh (Queen Elizabeth's husband) because of the messy divorce of Diana and Prince Charles. Today he mouthed off behind the protection of the witness box, espousing all of his theories to be taken into consideration by the jury.

Interestingly, there seems to be no place that holds a good debunking of this CT. There are some sites with a broad-brush debunking, but nothing with any structure or depth. As an example,

h t t p : / / w w w . time. com /time/world/article/0,8599,1569818,00.html

And now back to your regular 9/11 nuttiness.

*I may also wade in on the 9/11 stuff, I hear there's a vacancy in the NWO shill Dept for a fresh faced, naive, wet-behind-the-ears debunker;)

If it's a conspiracy, it's not a very good one.....

.....for example the missing white Fiat is pretty well publicised.

Let's go for it, and break the monotony of 911.

I think that Unsecured Coin's Avataar looks awfully like that guy from Storymakers on Cbeebies....you know, the one that was Cat in Red Dwarf, but grew his hair long....

I feel for Al-fayed in a sense. He is a great businessman who has done a lot in this country IMO and has been knocked back in the past for citizenship because certain people did not like him.

He has let the bitterness from this and the shock of his son being taken from him and turned over to la la land.

Cheers for the links and the welcomes guys and girls.

I think it's quite sad to see Al-Fayed, who, let's not forget, had to bury his son, consumed and blinded by rage in this way. While it's understandable to be angry immediately after the event, surely enough time has passed to view the events with some degree of rationality?

Listening to the debunkings of the theories, they seem to me to be of the same ilk as the 9/11 or JFK stuff. Fanciful stories which, viewed uncritically may have something more to them. However, even a cursory glance at the mechanics of such an idea renders it (to me at least) absurd.

Important point, and one that lends itself to the 9/11 CTs. While none have come out with strong MIHOP positions, some of the family members, in my opinion, have let their hurt cloud their judgment on the issues. In particular, the Jersey Girls seem to have been vocal in terms of Govt involvement. One of them, IIRC has recently suggested that a mysterious "anonymous" whistleblower had confessed to her that the Pentagon crash was not all that it seemed.

Otherwise normal, rational people, can lose such when confronted with a horrific event that to them is unresolved.

I for one would be more than happy to see some non 9/11 stuff in here. There's plenty of woo out there that I need to sharpen up on. For example - and, apologies for the slight derail - I lost all the references I gathered at one point regarding Pearl Harbor woo. I don't know where all my stuff went (a majority of it links regarding the actual state of intelligence before the attack, and some of it references for books on the topic), and I really think it's time to build it up again.

As far as the Diana/Dodi/Mohammed Al-Fayed stuff goes: I don't know much about it. But I'll sit back and watch the fur fly; I'd love to know more about it (it's just that it somehow seems less important to debunk than 9/11 fantasy).

Showing that one guys opinion is all that's needed to qualify as evidence.
Oh in that case she's definitely the victim of a conspiracy.

See, the night it happened it was reported on the news she'd been in a car wreck and had broken her arm. I turned to my girlfriend and said "they're killing Diana." (Actually my words were "they're getting rid of Diana. SWEET!" I never liked Diana.) An hour later they reported she was dead.

Now, in the decade since I've never seen any evidence that bolstered my claim at all... but if all it takes is my stupid, CT-addled (at the time) opinion then oh sure, there's no doubt whatsover. ;)

Al-Fayed has always been a bit of a nutter. I can't imagine the pain of having to bury one of your children but his desperate attempts to over-inflate the importance of the relationship must hurt Diana's sons deeply. Almost all the evidence from anyone but him seems to point to diana NOT being in love with Dodi. All the evidence from anyone but him points to diana NOT being pregnant. Most crucially any security service worth the name is going to be able to take out somone without the need to resort to an incredibly risky "make the car crash and kill the princess" plan.

If she and Dodi had been wearing seat belts they would more than likely survived. No security service in the world is going to plan that.

Finally our tax pounds are going into yet another investigation into this. Grrrrrrrrrr....

I would believe that the issue is one of control. You can't believe that you are so bound by the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune*, people want to feel like they have some control over their lives. It can't have just been an accident? It can't have been just one person with three bullets?[/JFK] It can't have been 19 guys with a deathwish?[/911].

Can it?

*5 points for the reference.

I bet you had to think for a while about whether that was to be or not to be five points.
