Mitt and the White Horse

Even if there is a specific end-times prophecy in a rather small cult that the candidate's family has been a prominent member in for generations?

Again, most Christian faiths have some sort of end-times prophecy element. The longer the religion has been around, the less prominent that feature becomes.

So is all you're arguing that more recently formed and smaller religions are more dangerous than larger and longer-lived religions?

And is there any way that the word "cult" distinguishes among religions other than by applying to those that were more recently formed or are smaller?

I'm exploring the possibility that the guy is influenced by the quite specific prophecies circulated in his peer group and that this might be a reason for some of his weird "foreign policy" believes and his "flip-flopping" on what he might consider to be absolute trivial issues given his grand mission fulfilling God's will. Consensus seems to be "meh, nothing to see here, let's go back to bickering about him claiming that Syria is Iran's way to the sea". Fine.
