Oh yes, the cartoon theory of gravity.

1. A character does not experience gravity until the character becomes aware that they are no longer supported in any way.

2. This awareness may be displayed through enlarged eyes, or the character displaying a sign like 'Help me.'

3. Awareness of gravity spreads slowly through the body, so that different parts of the body accelerate at different times.

4. Sufficient panic may allow a character to overcome gravity via frenzied running or climbing.

Road runner cartoons are the best. Characters (particularly the Road Runner) being able to modify their environment with paint, with the modifications being real or unreal depending on benefit to the Road Runner.
