Listen to what Gravel has to say about Obama ~3:45

Interviewer: What do you make of Obama's promise of change?

Gravel: (paraphrased) It's foolish, dangerous...the worst thing a leader can do is raise expectations and not deliver. We'll have a whole new generation of cynics.

I didn't take away a good impression of Gravel from his debate appearances, but it's a bit more interesting to hear what he has to say now that he's a tiny side show. Difficult to say whether Gravel is just bitter that the youth didn't propel his own campaign or if he's genuinely concerned about the faith young people are putting in Obama to bring change.

One vote for angry old man.

Who's going to vote for someone who says, "Well, I probably won't be able to do much because the corporations won't let me."? IOW, if you can't "raise expectations," you can't get elected. Period. That's why nobody's voting for Mike Gravel.

Bit of both, but I can't imagine a Gravel presidency, would he still be an angry old man?

Both probably. I don't really get why so many lefties are for Paul rather than Gravel. When I pointed a NC Paultard [about 22 years old] to Gravel he mentioned that even his mother told him about Gravel some time ago so he went to his webpage, was amazed and immediately wrote Paul off heh.

Too bad Gravel is lashing out all the time and is perceived as the grumpy old guy, although his positions aren't bad in my opinion, judging by a brief look. Worthier than Paul, at least somehow.

He's getting about 1/8th to 1/10th the votes of Dennis Kucinich, who sort of defines "fringe candidate".

I think that Gravel comes off as an angry old man but is definitly a straight talker.

Isn't he being honest?

Unless Obama plans to lead by executive order, there won't be much change under an Obama presidency. The oval office is where change is rubber stamped.

Change happens on the floor of the deliberative bodies.
