Well, I'm in Chicago now. Wow! Did I ever underestimate your traffic. Think half the travel time to the hotel here was spent just a few miles away from it.

I'll meet you over there soon. Heard this Gino's place is prety good. :)
 
Doh! Sorry you missed it. Maybe there will be another gathering later in the year (when the temperature is above freezing).
 
well it seems there were 7 of us together. did anybody else find somebody? i hope nobody was left by themselves looking.

if anybody is still in town tomorrow and wants to do something, post up.

some highlights:

treble_head found a chick tract, which we placed in the bill. it wasnt there when we got our change back.
a homeless guy attempted to sing for us.
we were abducted by aliens.

Thanks to Clarsct for getting this moving. I expressed an early interest, but as it turns out, I was not able to go that weekend, had I been coherent enough to decline. :(

Any thoughts about doing it again?

I hadn't heard anything so I figured it went belly-up!


Man, I owe everyone an apology. Someone else set another time and date, and I will be there. I just bought a new house and all, and I guess I just got very busy. I was without internet for about 6 weeks, all told, as well. All excuses, I know, but yeah....erm...someone else plant the flag this time. I obviously suck as a leader.
 
Hey, if you're planning one in late May or later I would be very interested in driving down from the Madison area. I'll even bring my banjo. Or better yet, if I'm invited, I won't bring my banjo.
 
if we do another one, we need some better organization. i was lucky i knew treble_head, or i would have never found anybody. plus, once inside the restaurant, it would have been impossible for a latecomer to find anybody.

we need to meet up at some other place first, and then head over to the real place at some specified time.

That's an interesting conference you are attending. The last conference I attended was for communications "skills". There were tons of biotech's there.

I need to buy a computer at Best Buy in Schaumburg as soon as possible. Are there any computer geeks living close that would be willing to help me pick out just the right equipment without feeling pressured to buy something I will absolutely not need. Helping me set it up (and transferring all my stuff from my laptop) is optional, but I will order pizza and spring for beer if you do. :D

After work the last round, I was just drained. My apologies for missing the event. If you guys do this again, I have a two bedroom, two bath condo. I could possible put up three/four folks depending on where you are willing to sleep (water mattress bed, two futons, and two sofas). The ideal location to party would be in Schaumburg/Roselle area. We have an excellent restaurant at the Schaumburg airport and a winery in Roselle. :cool:

i can help you with your computer needs. although i would recommend buying the parts yourself and assembling it. PM me and we can work out details tho.

May would be cool. Yeah, have someone else organize it....;) .

Awww. Rule 8! Fine. I'll take this over again. May 20. It's a Saturday. 6 PM. outside the popcorn shop next to Gino's East, south on Wells. I had a good time at Geno's, and the parkling was easy. We should meet at 6 sharpish. If we want to do Ed Debevek's we can do that too. I'll have a sign that says "Skeptic?", and I'll hold it above my head. How's that sound?

Damn, I'll probably have to work.

Umm....I might be able to arrange it. The 13th or the 27th would be cool, though. What does everyone else think?

I would suggest Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, my wife and I will be in Vegas then, but it's just a suggestion.
