Michelle Bachmann could be our next president.

No, please, this thread could use a re-rail

Ok, I didn't wanna interrupt, but an invite to re-rail? Can't resist!

“The husband is to be the head of the wife, according to God.” It is a philosophy that Michele Bachmann echoed to congregants of the the Living Word Christian Center in 2006, when she stated that she pursued her degree in tax law only because her husband had told her to. “The Lord says: Be submissive, wives. You are to be submissive to your husbands,” she said.

This kind of thinking is fine if you are running the PTA, but not POTUS.

“And the Lord then led me to this man,” she said, pausing to identify Marcus in the crowd. “That my calling was to marry this man. And I tell you that, because, I hate to disappoint you, darling, but it wasn’t a big romantic surge that led us to each other. It was His word.

I think she married him to save him from his gayness. NTTAWWT

“At the same time,” she added, “the Lord was speaking to my husband, and He showed my husband — he was repairing a fence on the farm where he worked — and the Lord showed him in a vision that he was supposed to marry me. And my husband said: ‘I don’t want to get married. I want to wait till I’m 27. I want to see the world. I want to have a great time in life. I don’t want to marry this girl.’ ”

Ok, neither one of them was attracted sexually to the other, yet they married...how odd.

This kind of crazy is exactly why she is #2 in the polls, the tards eat this stuff up! But the moment her hubbies closet door crashing down, they'll throw her to the curb.

Michele Bachmann has called gay marriage “probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, 30 years.” In 2005, she ran screaming from a bathroom at a constituent forum, claiming that a lesbian had attempted to keep her there against her will. (The woman said she was merely questioning Bachmann about her position on gay marriage.)

It's a 4 page article, and worth a read.

I just gave him a look. He actively works to legally block gay marriage and supports intelligent design being taught in schools. You must be joking.
Positions rather required to become governor of The Great State of Texas; I doubt he personally believes evolution to be false. Social Conservative? Maybe.

His economic policies have at least worked for Texas as the rest of the country goes further in the ditch.

You know, in light of recent events in the skeptical community, I have a re-imagining of this event.

Woman Follows Michelle Bachmann into Bathroom at 4am. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I am interested in what you said about Gay Marriage. Why don't you come up to my hotel room and we can discuss it further over coffee."

It's fine for you to doubt Perry personally believes evolution to be false. Can you present any reasons why the rest of us should be believe that ?

Disbeleif in evolution sounds right in line with his type of thinking:

I think we’re going through those difficult economic times for a purpose, to bring us back to those Biblical principles of you know, you don’t spend all the money.

If the economy in his world is based on the bible, surely science is as well...

And just to stay on topic, Michelle Bachmann also does not believe in evolution.

So the GOP is on track to nominate one of a pack of religious whackadoodles, a nobody who wants to legalize weed or one of the most boring white guys they ever put forward.

The only one who would really scare me if he got the nomination is weed man because a lot of stoned out fools would vote for him just on that. I have, however, not seen any sign that he ever had any other good ideas.

But not a one of the whole carload of clowns, at this timme, has show any sign that they are fit to command the armed forc es in time of war.

Bachmann has already shown that she would be a disaster in the area of national security. To have even suggested what she did about veteran's benefits shows that she is unfit to have any influence over the lives of soldiers.

Maybe it would be better for the country if they do run the babbling little twit. It would be nice to see the military community finally wake up to the fact that these drongos are not on their side.

No, that's not what I got from it. I think the lesbian was asking her what her favorite position was, and Michelle got all wet and ran out of the bathroom.

As I recall, the bathroom is not a good place for politicians to be taking a stance on anything, especially a wide one.

Don't vote for him. Problem solved.

Because "Since I have no counterargument, I'd rather just sweep Perry's ignorance and bigotry under the rug rather than attempt to defend it" isn't nearly as succinct.
