One thing Kucinich has going over Bachman is that while he is a nut, he's a principled nut. IMHO, he not only believes what he stands for, but he and his wife, as seen in the above link, actually do something about it.
Elizabeth Kucinich was at St. Louis's Pride Parade last year. Kudos to her.

Ya I can get behind that. There's a temptation as skeptics to automatically dehumanize woo-believers and downplay their intelligence, but even though Kucinich drinks deeply from the woo-well I think he's got some smarts about him.
And I don't think his politics are as crazy as Bachman's - and he can at least express himself well and doesn't get factual history wrong.
Bachman is "Palin"-crazy. Sloganeering and mindless repetition of whatever the "real conservative" position is on any given issue.
Kucinich, while "out there" in his politics doesn't come across as being as stupid as Bachman.

I can see that getting some traction with the appropriate spin: Coolidge PREVENTED the crisis with Sound Conservative Values, which is why the economy didn't actually suffer as much. Modern liberal historians in socialist universities have covered it up, but here's the truth from a real American: (insert link to wingnut screed).
I forsee Glenn Beck telling us about the Great Collapse of 2001, averted by GWB's foresight in cutting taxes on the most productive Americans.

You agree with his politics (and he has a cute hippie wife) so you'll forgive his being a nut? You will not see me saying that about Bachmann, because I know that nuts on my side accomplish nothing other than discrediting my causes by association.

Some of his politics I agree with, many I do not. I also do not forgive his being a nut. I do think he is that rare politician who says what he means, even if I don't agree with what he says.
I can admire one or two aspects of a person without saying all of his aspects are admirable.

My guess is that Bachman is also sincere - she seems to be creating her own false data, rather than just repeating old canards, which is the sign of a true loon rather than a panderer.

I think Bachmann also says what she means. Which in her case (and Kucinich's) is a little scary.

Really? I think she says the things she does because she is trying to get one over on the other guy rather than out of principle. I guess I should look more into her positions to see if there is a consistency that I'm not seeing. I could be wrong.

I do think that Bachmann is being sincere, i.e., her elevator goes all the way to the top. It just misses a few floors along the way.

I think Bachman is an enchilada short of a combination plate.
She is giving Ron Paul real competition for the position of "Wackiest GOP Member of Congress".
I would love to be a fly on the wall of the Minnesota Congressional delegation meetings the first time Franken and Bachmann are together.
My Minnesota cousins inform me that out side of her distict, Bachmann is considered a big time embarassment for the state, and Some Minnesota GOP leaders are quietly looking around for someone to challenge her in the 2010 GOP primary.

No, at some point, you gotta call stupid what it is. Otherwise, you're standing silent over an atrocity to reason and honesty. Bachmann isn't some street corner preacher of no consequence; she's a member of Congress for cryin' out loud.
