Michael Moore: Best Picture?

I've worked in film and television for the past 15 years, allow me to explain the "Oscar" scam. A jew in the film biz...go figure.. ;)

The Oscars are not the "best" of the year. It is an insider popularity contest for the year and a device for Hollywood to repackage a product in order to extend it's sales. Notice how ads tout "Oscar winner" and "Winner of best picture" and "Winner of two Oscars" the day after the Oscar winners are announced. Hollywood is rebranding the product. And Joe Q. Public buys that rebranding hook line and sinker and ticket sales go waaaaaaay up for a short period.

Who are the Academy members?...the people who vote on the Oscars? They are the people who win Oscars. People in the industry who stand to gain from an Oscar win are the same people who are eligible to vote. To be an Academy member one must be a Hollywood insider. Conflict of interest? You decide.

So Hollywood insiders - who vote for the Oscars - will probably give Moores crappy documentary alot of votes because Hollywood is generally made up of delusional liberals who hate Bush. There has been only two movies in my life I have walked out of and Moore's picture was one. Not because of it's topic but because of it's endless innuendo and supposition.

I never watch the Oscars because it is a scam. It's is akin to Ford voting for the best Ford vehicles of the year, then putting on a big song and dance production to say "Hey aren't these great cars" and then using the winners of that song and dance production to rebrand said Ford vehicles in the media as the "best of the year".

I think a winning movie might be "Farenheit 33 AD", a blistering condemnatory documentary about the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus. Cameras follow Michael Moore as he ruthlessly interviews eyewitnesses, questions Saducees, searches for Pontius Pilate's hidden ties to Arabs, and presents the whole thing as a dreadful conspiracy of evil. Who paid Judas the silver, and who channelled those funds into a Cayman Islands account? Why did St Peter continue to read "My Pet Goat" for seven minutes after hearing the news? And was St Bartholomew really dating a Roman lady, close relative to Pilate? Did Mary Magdalene try to cover it up by stealing the body, then claiming a miracle occurred? Was she trying to prevent an autopsy for fear of the discovery of systematic poisoning?

A definite Oscar nominee, "Farenheit 33 AD" will shock your previous conceptions and make it clear who you should vote for as tribune this fall!

I hope it gets nominated.

I hope it wins best picture.

I hope it wins best director.

I hope it wins best editing.

I hope it wins best screenplay.

I hope it wins best actor.

I hope it wins best actress.

I hope it wins best supporting actor.

I hope it wins best supporting actress.

I hope it wins everything in sight.

I hope its sweep of the awards makes James Cameron and Titanic look like a pathetic loser.

I hope Michael Moore gets up on the stage a dozen times on Oscar Night and makes a dozen speeches about how Bush and the Republicans and Halliburton want to rape and kill your grandma - and not necessarily in that order.

I hope every speech Michael Moore makes is interrupted a dozen times with standing ovations.

I hope every ovation interruption has a shot panning over the Hollywood glitterati as they ecstatically cheer their hero.

Insightful Beeps....very insightful! Liberal Hollywood as a victim of their own success! Delightfully ironic. :D

Or as a friend of mine once described it: "It's a circle-jerk with trophies for the best jerker."

Thank you. This should be appended as a footnote to every Oscar discussion.

Thank you! Oh! Thank you! I can hardly breathe! I feel so blessed!... And this statue - it's so suspiciously phallic! You know when they first told me I was an Oscar winner.. and a God on Earth.. I just had to take a Xanax and obsess about how great working on Michael's movie was.

First off though, I want to thank the glorified prostitutes of the Academy, who looked deep within their wallets before giving me this fantastic award! Also, I want to thank God, for being such a powerful force in my life. Thank you America, and good night!

Joan Rivers: "And Jesus of Nazareth is proving yet again that basic black can look cheap and tacky. Did he get that from a thrift store? He can turn water to wine, but he can't turn JC Penney to Armani, that's for sure. Oh my God! He's just tripped over his own synthetic leather loafers and fallen into J. Lo's butt! Paramedics are calling for the jaws of life to get him out of there. God, why have you forsaken him?"
