That said, unless this cop was Wilson himself, the video says nothing about Wilson's guilt/innocence in the killing of Brown.
No, but you have to wonder about the mentality in the area police departments. That sort of thing becomes the standard among people that work together. If one cop sees everyone as a the enemy, it's typical to find that is a contagious attitude.

For those hypothesising warning shots, can you cite a police department anywhere which sanctions this? I doubt you can. Firing warning shots is beyond stupid.
It's standard police practice that if you shoot, you shoot to stop the suspect which is another way of saying you shoot to kill. People often ask why didn't they shoot a leg or something and the standard answer is, that's not what police are taught to do.

Not only that, but a shot in the air in a city is very dangerous. It can come down anywhere and hit someone.

As long as people are posting GatewayPundit and anonymous friend's of Wilson's, here's what is believed in the Ferguson neighborhood: Witness says police were looking to confiscate videos.

Exactly. The robbery and battery on a police officer weren't such a big deal, because slavery.

You know who I found really loves this sort of mitigation argument?

Black judges.

Oh pray tell us your experiences...as one who has been on both sides of a judge (one side many more times than another) I can't wait to hear!
But I wont. Exactly. Because of racism. And bigotry. And stupidity.

82 pages ? woot. I only got a few days in holiday :p.

Just out of curiosity is there a web page somewhere which has an impartial summary only listing facts and not opinion ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Michael_Brown

Can't guarantee all of the "facts" there are actually facts, but each of them links to a footnote to the original source (or if not, there is a "[citation needed]" note).

Or, if you prefer, you could try this:
http://www.vox.com/cards/mike-brown-protests-ferguson-missouri/mike-brown-ferguson-MO-protests

Again, though, no source is 100% objective or omniscient or always 100% correct.

And now it's ABC News:

Obviously they're just piggybacking off Gateway Pundit.

:D
I got an alert about this earlier from Fox News...I think the injury would explain quite a few things. I'll wait for more confirmation in any event.

I started on Page 55...it goes fast! I have yet to find anything that really makes sense; since so little has been officially released, we can only speculate as to what really happened.

Did you even bother to read this story before making your uninformed comment? Maybe you should.

Did you even bother to read past the first paragraph? Maybe you should before making your uninformed comment (although I doubt it will help).

The Ohio Attorney General’s office has said that the gun Crawford was carrying was an MK-177 BB/Pellet rifle, also known as a “variable pump air rifle.” Family members could not be reached for comment by msnbc.

Here's the "toy" in question:

The Crosman MK-177 Tactical Air Rifle is useful for both target practice when perfecting your aim and for going after small game. Using new valve technology, it combines a lower pumping force with higher velocities, making it easier to fire BBs at speeds of up to 800 fps. The rugged, all-weather construction allows this hunting air rifle to be durable and able to withstand wind, rain and other outdoor elements. A full tactical rail on top features adjustable sights, while side rails hold optional accessories such as flashlights or lasers. The MK-177 black rifle is fed by either a five-shot pellet clip or the internal 300-plus BB magazine that is conveniently located on the side. A hidden compartment in stock assists in carrying additional ammo. Weighing about three pounds and featuring a tactical pistol grip, the rifle is easy to handle and maneuver for extended periods of time.

Probably not a lethal weapon except for birds and squirrels, but it certainly looks pretty deadly. I am also amused that MSNBC credits Raw Story on this one.

It was a toy from the store.

Are you seriously blaming the victim here?

Guess we'll have to wait for the video so we can see for ourselves.

"We understand he took the BB gun from a shelf and had a phone in one hand and the gun in the other, ....

If it was such a dangerous weapon why was it on the store shelf?

Here, watch it make a target wiggle.:eyeroll:

Thanks for the video, which points out that the air rifle in question is based on the Bushmaster ACR, which you can see here.

I am sure that at a glance you can see which is the bb/pellet gun and which is the serious rifle. At any rate, this derail has gone far enough. I am not blaming the victim, and I am not blaming the cops. I would be interested to find out if this gun was just lying around at Wal-Mart on a shelf or if it was in a box or otherwise at least moderately secured.

I would give you an avatar bet for a month that this particular shooting turns out to be justified.

ETA: I do love these two additional details from the original story:

LeeCee Johnson, the mother of Crawford’s children, told the Dayton Daily News she was on the phone with him while he was browsing in the store.

Tasha Thomas, who identified herself as Crawford’s girlfriend, told the Dayton Daily News that she drove Crawford to the Wal-Mart and was also in the store, but was in a different aisle from Crawford when the shooting happened.

Quite the family man.

False. Officer Wilson is the most credible witness in this case.

So when there is a self defense case, the accused is the most credible witness? That makes a lot of sense!!

I'd say there isn't a "most credible" witness. They would all have a reason to lie depending upon what actually happened.
