What does waste mean to an omnipotent God? If one was omnipotent/omniscient/etc... wouldn't it be as easy to create the entire universe as to create a blade of grass? How can one judge what is and isn't significant in creation if it is the work of such a being?

So, what you are saying is there needs to be a metric boat-load of special pleading to sustain this omnipotent god belief.

I'm just saying that I don't think the argument about the percentage of the universe that can't sustain human life is on target.

"Waste" is your word, not mine. In fact, nothing you've written here seems to address my post.

Loss Leader,
- Gotta say, this is really neat. I don't have to read anyone's responses but yours!

Loss Leader,
- Thanks very much for your help. This should force me to put up, or shut up. And, everyone will see it -- which ever direction it goes.
- Do you have any specific Q/C/S (Questions, Comments or Suggestions) that you would like me to address first? If not, I'll start where I left off.
- I could try to start at the beginning if you prefer...

We could use the last list of questions.

Or make a new list. I love the lists. So structured. So organized. So full of ... promise. One new list, if you please.

And remember that indispensably valuable advice from Aristotle:

(1) Tell them what you're going to tell them.
(2) Tell them what you're going to tell them.
(3) Tell them what you're going to tell them.

or something like that.

Left off? You haven't started yet.

And I'm out again. You have done nothing here, Jabba, absolutely nothing that supports your ideas. All you have done is ignore, misunderstand, and misrepresent what has been, on the whole, very kindly offered to you.

All the best in your grandfatherly endeavors, but I won't waste words wishing you the best on this forum. You've no hope of achieving it.

Good morning, Mr. Savage, and happy Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr., day! (although, myself, I would rather have seen a day dedicated to all the heroes of the movement, not just one preacher...)

I take it, then, that you are, for all practical purpose, simply going to ignore any input but Loss Leader's? Why not do such in a PM, instead of a public forum?

I take it, also, that you are declining my offer to meet you on your terms, on your site, and declining it without even addressing it? How "friendly" is that?

Ah, well--have fun. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see how long this lasts. If you change your mind about my offer, it still stands.

Open suggestion to the moderating team:

Might you, the moderators, consider opening the Savage/Leader exclusive "debate" in a moderated thread? I know it would be more work for you, but quarantining the thread would at least make it easier to wade through, as it would consist of only input from the two disputants.

I appreciate your taking this suggestion under consideration.

Exactly.

Apart from anything else and for all that I respect his views and opinions, Loss Leader does not represent me in this discussion, and I'd be astounded if I was the only one who felt this way.

LL does not represent me.

abaddon, Dread Angel though he is, does not represent me.

Agatha, for all her sagacity, does not represent me.

By Thoth's idiosyncratic drinking vessels, you, O Mighty One (may you post forever!) do not represent me.

I could make a list of approximately 31,000 posters who do not, with all respect due, represent me.

I do not represent you, jointly or severally.

This'll go well.

I must point out that, by omission, I represent you.

You owe that guy over there fifty bucks. You made a bad call on the NFC Championships last night.

ETA: In seriousness, LossLeader does not represent me, either, but I do not think he/she is pretending to do so. There is simply an apparent opportunity to possibly make the discussion progress, and LL is grabbing the opportunity. Whether I think it is a good idea or not is a bit beside the point as I do not represent LossLeader anymore than he/she represents me.

Hey, man, give me a chance. I'm really good at using words when I write down thoughts and stuff.

You are indeed, and I greatly admire your ability in those areas.

I just want to make it perfectly clear to Jabba that he's having a one-on-one discussion with you and not with the forum's version of Locutus of Borg.

:)
