Mel Gibson: The Dark Side.

Now see, here's a part of the christian dogma that I could never get my head around (just one of a great many). Jesus was sent to Earth to be sacrificed for the sins of mankind, and without the Jews he wouldn't have been crucified, which means that his mission would have failed. So the Jews must surely have been following God's master plan, and should therefore be praised for their vital role in bringing about the necessary death of Jesus.

But christians hate them for it. Jews are sometimes referred to as God killers.

If everyone at the time had accepted Jesus as the messiah then he wouldn't have been put to death and would have been unable to take on the sins of all mankind, so we'd all be damned to eternal hellfire, although if they'd all accepted him they wouldn't, except that he had to die before they could......

Oh crap, my head hurts!

I was going to say "Temporal mechanics gives me a headache!", but thought the reference might be lost on most people here...

nerd[1,noun]

Main Entry: 1nerd
Pronunciation: n-u-r-d Function: noun

1 : one who memorizes large amounts of useless trivia ...

:D
Does the trivia have to be true?

If not would that make 1 in C a nerd?

I have feeling he has whole chapters of the bible memorized
And that definitely qualifies as useless

Mel Gibson is summed up best in the "Passion of the Jew" episode of South Park.

Whoop! Whoop!!

Mel Gibson has proven to be ignorant of His Word. He needs to stop condemning people outside of his Church to Hell.

Why am I getting visions of the whole Catholic/Protestant war thingy that happened back in the Elizabethian times?

And of Edmund Blackadder?

It's been fun, really, but this schtick is getting old. Come up with better material, or retire the puppet, please.

No Christian has ever explained to me why Jesus had to die in order to let everybody into heaven. Why couldn't he just do it while he was still alive?

Sympathetic magic always requires a burnt offering or an effigy of some sort.

What is the point to all this dogmatic hair splitting when Cthulhu is going to devour us all?

AND SO DO YOU!

Because it is very important that we will be eaten first, and dogmatic hairsplitting is the only way we can know before it's too late.

Only 40 posts? That's quite a disappointment from a 1inC thread.

Well, 41 now, I guess

Well, even trolls end up out of breath shouting in the wind and running uphill :D

WRONG! I have stated many times Church does not matter when it comes to Salvation. I have never condemned those outside of my Church to Hell, ever.

I'm outside your church. Am I damned to Hell?

And there was me thinking that you thought that it was god that did the condemning!

And according to your own statements on previous threads our destinies are already decided. Although, when that was pointed out to you, you utterly failed to see how.

It's like watching 2 geeks argue over who would win in a dogfight between the Enterprise and the Millennium Falcon.

Wow! I have never heard that one. I should think that since the Falcon was designed for just a few people whereas the original Enterprise was designed for 430 and about 10 times larger, that the Enterpise could easily destroy the Falcon.

Perhaps you are refer to the hypothetical battle between one of the Borg Cube Ships and the Death Star.
