Mediums and Psychics

It lies more with the victim. The victim should have the common sense and a normal degree of skepticism to doubt psychics. The Psychics, in my opinion, are those who are testing people's faith.

I got mugged once, in Paris. Obviously the blame shouldn't lie with the violent bastards who mugged us. It's our fault for going to a foreign city, where we lack the normal degree of knowledge as to what is or is not a bad area to be in. Really, the muggers were just testing our local knowledge.

Seriously mate, do you read what you write?

I do not understand that certain Psychics, even after being exposed, are still making a good profit. Is it time to educate those suckers out there?

Some people want to be fooled. I don't understand it at all, but it seems clear that some people will deliberately ignore any education you try to give them.

That proves that some people are not the victim. They CHOOSE what to believe and what not to believe. They could buy into Psychics, and should realize what they are putting themselves into

But earlier you said MOST people. Maybe you meant some people? Then why not say that in the first place instead of alienating some people.

I apologize, and retract my previous statement.

Stll, though, I do not see "victims" of Psychic fraud as 100 percent innocent. I mean, they are guilty on at least some part, aren't they?

Apology appreciated.
As to the 100%, be better if you read up a bit, theres a whole mix there. Some people here would agreee with you. I think there's too much of a mix to generalise 100%.

I do think there's another category, though, and it consists of people who aren't being defrauded in any definable sense but who stubbornly believe in psychics anyway (i.e, they don't go to psychics to try to find out anything about lost family members or anything along those lines; they just believe in psychics because they like the idea). To be fair, I don't see how these people can be victims.

The people who believe in Psychics, but does not give money to them, are not victims of anything. They are simply engaging in a falsehood, and their thinking has gone wrong

I don't use psychics. I mean, not anymore; they're disappointing. But the dead contact ME instead. I can't help it. One cool thing was the first time it happened, I had a witness which is extremely unusual, I think. It was So Cool to lay in bed and quietly discuss the experience while it was happening! Maybe it happens due to some inherited quality since my grandmother SAW the dead. And she was a no-nonsense businesswoman, sort of cold and aloof. She never made money off of it. She simply would describe them to my father & managed (what was then referred to as a) boardinghouse.

Yes of course. Blame is not a zero sum game.

Hi Deranged,

Care to share more about your experience? I am intrigued.

By witness do you mean someone who saw the same thing you were seeing, or someone who was witnessing you seeing something?

Psychics--I'm An Innocent Victim

Most People who fall for Psychics/Mediums buy into it because they have lost someone in their life, and want to channel spirits, instead of seeking a therapist. People who do that are not the victims. Scam artists are bad, i know, but it is up to the consumer on whether or not they want to be sucked into such nonsense.

It is not my fault that the dead have contacted ME while I was simply going about the business of life. The really rare, neat thing is the first time it happened I had a witness. Try to find that one again. We were asleep in bed
and she woke us up. The scent. First night, he smelled it when I was sleeping away, told me about it the next day and politely asked, "want me to wake you up if it happens tonight?" I said sure and he did. So the 3 of us were in that room together. Then I had 2 other experiences--one involving the dead after 3 deaths close together, then one weird experience in Key West.
Hey; so sue me. You know what you know. Rhetoric can't change that. ps my grandmother saw dead people; I haven't.

So you smelled something funny, and supposedly this was the dead contacting you?
How about being a tad more specific about your experience?

What was the scent?

He woke you up the second night, you smelled the scent... nothing else happened?

What were your two other experiences?

More details please...

hmm..I expected to be ignored. Which is one reason I never discuss it with anyone in person .
Over twenty years ago my ex husband and I were visiting his mother, a great person, spending the weekend. We slept in the guestroom, windows shut, no flowers anywhere.
The first morning )I can't recall if we were still in bed or had gotten up) my ex goes, "Deranged, a smell woke me up last night; it smelled like OLD LADIES' BODY POWDER. IF it happens again tonight, do you want me to wake you up?" Thank god I said yes. I almost said no because I hate to be awakened. Besides, I was sure nothing would come of it.
Second night he goes, "DERANGED!! WAKE UP!! DO YOU SMELL THAT??
and I said, "yes! what is that?? " and he goes, "GO AWAY , GRANNY. ' and it dissipated. Being young, we fell back to sleep quickly.
Next morning, at breakfast, he told his mother what had happened. All she said to us was, "yes, Mother used to sleep in that bed." (meaning her mother). It smelled like body powder==the old fashioned kind with the "puff" on top ?
Then I had 2 more....entirely different experiences...the last one around
1995 when mom and my best friend died. I cannot tell you how wonderful, beautiful, lovely, and loving it felt. It gives you a feeling that you possess something unique , maybe something inherited? And , sorry skeptics, you believe in SOME SORT of an afterlife forever after. I have No clue what kind of one or anything like that, I'm just telling u I'm a sober person, had a weird grandmother and whether anyone believes me mattereth not. lol I have wondered if the stress of 2 important deaths close together somehow drew them to me? I just don't understand it. But with the grandmother thing, there was zero stress. It was a happy time in my life back then.
