Reagan was "Peace through Strength," i.e., we need a nuclear air craft carrier in every time zone so that we can do whatever the hell we want.

Kucinich is "Strength through Peace," i.e., national security isn't just about who has the most guns.

Did any of the other networks show the protestor earlier on with the sign that said "McCain Votes Against Vets"? It was 10 minutes before the Code Pink outburst. He seemed to be way up there and hard to get to, but we saw him on PBS for a second.

I believe McCain's slogan is: "Peace Is Not An Option!"

Everyone ridiculed Reagan for his "trickle down" economics: "Don't give tax
breaks to the rich guys, their savings will never trickle down to us!"

And as it turns out, they were right to do so. The result of Regan's "voodoo economics" was a recession that torpedoed the GHW Bush reelection. It didn't work. It still won't work. Rich people keep most of their money and "trickle down" a little bit. That is why you are seeing such a growing gap between rich and poor in this country. I find that gap to be disturbing. Can you say "Bastille Day"? Knew you could.

Obama wants to bring the upper income taxes back up to what they were under Clinton.

The economy was doing pretty well under Clinton.

You raise taxes on 10% of the people, and everyone will feel it. It is not the way to prosperity.

And what happens when you cut taxes for 90% of the people?

You are kidding right? Keep telling yourself that. The Kool-Aid that the GOP wants to sell us is that the Democrats want to increase everyone's taxes.

What the Dems really want to do is increase the taxes of the top 5%.

Tell me again why I should care if some guy making $1 million a year gets their taxes raised when I get mine lowered? And in the end, when I have more money to spend HE makes more money as well because I spend it, directly or indirectly with his business.
