Arianna Huffington was a GOP activist until the GOP got disgusted with her attempts to play kingmaker behind the scenes, and kicked her out. She than suffered a Road To Damascus moment and became a Liberal. The general attitude of the GOP was happiness that now the Democrats would have to deal with her.
The California Democrats, who have had long experience with her, wish she would just vanish.
I am not surprised that she promotes this garbage, but I am saddened the Ben Burch is resorting to cheap tactics like this. He is coming off like a shill for the Democrats, to be frank.

Arianna has all the qualities for a left wing blogger: plagiarist, lives in the 4th dimension, unintelligible accent, and failed political candidate. While she finished 5th in the California governor race, Larry Flint and Gary Coleman finished 7th and 8th. What a victory!

I tend to agree. Can anyone think of a realistic situation where the US would re-institute a draft? We'd meet a real threat, I imagine, by emptying some silos before we'd conscript our own citizens.

She was the beard for a gay husband who wanted to be governor of California. I'm not sure when she switched sides, but I'd bet it was shortly after the divorce, sometime around 1999 or so. But she's always been a social climber and when she got to LA it's hard to climb high in the social world without going lefty.

I don't think it's accurate to call her a liberal; she's far left. You can always tell somebody's a nut when they talk about the false left/right paradigm; the two people who use that term the most are Airiheadda and Alex Jones. Basically what they both mean is that they can't get either the liberals or the conservatives to buy into their nuttiness, so to them there is no real difference between the parties.

The only people who want to see the draft reinstated are hard-core radicals who hope that it would kick-start the antiwar movement. It's an astoundingly cynical ploy.

No it's not, Brainster. There is no cynicism involved at all. Those "hard-core radicals" are, as far as I can tell, quite explicit that their goal is to reinvigorate a classic 60s-style anti-war movement.

Are they dumb? Probably. Are they effective? Certainly not. Are they cynical? I don't think so.
