McCain has the worst surrogates ever

ETA: Okay, I just watched the Youtube (before I'd only read the transcript), and I must amend my statement. Michael Goldfarb is a supremely ****ing, stupid-ass, pile-of-**** douchebag... on stilts.
Finally got to watch it, too.

I think they should amend the rules of ethical journalism to include the ability to ask, "Why are you wasting my time? You can leave now."

I think that's what Rick Sanchez did, but in a nice way.

He should have not been nice - I would have loved it if Sanchez had called him an idiot. That would have been more appropriate.

Words from another McCain supporter:

A former Republican Secretary of State and one of John McCain's most prominent supporters offered a stunningly frank and remarkably bleak assessment of Sarah Palin's capacity to handle the presidency should such a scenario arise.

Lawrence Eagleburger, who served as Secretary of State under George H.W. Bush and whose endorsement is often trumpeted by McCain, said on Thursday that the Alaska governor is not only unprepared to take over the job on a moment's notice but, even after some time in office, would only amount to an "adequate" commander in chief.

The remarks took place during an interview on National Public Radio that was, ironically, billed as "making the case" for a McCain presidency. Asked by the host whether Palin could step in during a time of crisis, Eagleburger reverted to sarcasm before leveling the harsh blow.

"It is a very good question," he said, pausing a few seconds, then adding with a chuckle: "I'm being facetious here. Look, of course not."

Eagleburger explained: "I don't think at the moment she is prepared to take over the reins of the presidency. I can name for you any number of other vice presidents who were not particularly up to it either. So the question, I think, is can she learn and would she be tough enough under the circumstances if she were asked to become president, heaven forbid that that ever takes place?

"Give her some time in the office and I think the answer would be, she will be [pause] adequate. I can't say that she would be a genius in the job. But I think she would be enough to get us through a four year... well I hope not... get us through whatever period of time was necessary. And I devoutly hope that it would never be tested."
The indictment of Palin was all the more biting because both she and McCain have held Eagleburger up repeatedly during the past several weeks as evidence that the Republican ticket has firm standing and support within foreign policy circles. (In fact, McCain conferred with Eagleburger by phone just this week, on matters pertaining to national security.)

Waddaya think, Cicero? This is what one of McCain's supporters has to say about Palin. Give her some time, she will be....adequate.

I suspect that brainwashed Republicans will be thinking that Obama hangs with Louis Farrakhan, but he can't say it because that would be shot down.

It has been established he was talking about Rev. Wright.

She was either playing the character of the ditzy blond or she's done WAY too many drugs. I vote the former.
I dunno...check out her website. She makes the same claims (He's a communist, his friends (Ayers, etc.) are communists, he's a racist) in her "first political speech" (video link, "Freedom Broadcast Network"). She does sound less ditzy, more prepared, but the message was the same. "HE'S A COMMUNIST RACIST MUSLIM!"

Also, a few quotes from her blog:
Victoria Jackson said:
I hope that America realizes that Obama is a communist before it's too late.
Victoria Jackson said:
Whoever Obama's paying to help him appear to be a Christian, to win the Evangelical vote...is doing a terrible job. He should ask me for a few pointers.
Victoria Jackson said:
You see, what bothers me most, besides being a Communist, and a racist (Obama writes in his book, From Dreams of My Father, "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and and animosity against my (white) mother's race.") (Obama's "religion" of the last 20 years is Black Liberation Theology. What is that? "It is simply Marxism dressed up in Christian rhetoric. But unlike traditional Marxism, Black Liberation Theology emphasizes race rather than class. It's leading theorist is James Cone who says Jesus was black, African-Americans are the chosen people, and whites are the devil. Cone says, "What we need is the destruction of whiteness, which is the source of human misery in the world." The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor), is that he is a LIAR. He pretends to be a Christian and he incriminates himself everytime he speaks about Christianity. To lie about being a believer in Christ is very dangerous.

She is also on that ad in MN. I think it is called "Lame Has Beens Against Al Franken" or something.

Neither really shes just a crazy christian wingnut, and always has been. Shes always been pretty vocal about her political beliefs, such as they are.

Dang...just watched that (on YouTube) for the first time. Pat Boone in a swimming pool somewhere saying he loves ice fishing? Jackson shouting "Go Vikings!" as some sort of afterthought? Could they BE any more patronizing?

Yeah until the end when they said who made it I was honestly puzzled as to which side that ad was supposed to be for. I really thought it was Franken doing some weird anti humor thing.

Saw that and just saw the youtube video. It could be that Jackson is actually brilliant and is a Democrat in cognito. It sure enough seems like it's an act.

I stand corrected. In the interview she looked like she was playing her ditzy blond character from SNL. In real life, she seems to be doing the same. Right wing republican fundie who believes all the debunked smears (standing with muslims, etc).

Yep. the worst surrogates ever.

It's true. I just checked her out on Wikipedia. Wow, she really has drunk the Jesus Juice :boggled:

She needs to learn that political statements made in "dumb blond" mode are no help to the cause.
