Maybe this is Obama's new Mosque... err Church!

That building was featured in a documentary I was watching once, and my then-roommate wandered in and thought I was watching Doctor Who because "there's no way that is a real building". He thought it was an alien rocketship CGI effect.

The gherkin?

Does your penis look like that? If so, I'm worried.

Wow. Discussion about the American Caliphate conspiracies turns into discussion about compensation issues.

Only on JREF...

Actually, you may be on to something. Perhaps people who see conspiracies everywhere are projecting Freudian issues of some kind? They believe in conspiracies because they see the world as being full of secret enemies in collusion against them, possibly because they'd subconsciously rather believe in a league of evil intentions foiling their happiness than believe that life isn't inherently fair and they just happen to have been born with genes for small penises? In other words, conspiracy theories to explain the failing of the Just World hypothesis in cases of obvious injustice! "I don't have a big penis, that's unfair, life is supposed to be fair, therefore there are hidden enemies working against us to subvert natural justice and deny me my rightful penis length!"

eta: that might explain Islamophobia, too: people subconsciously associate Muslims with stories of Arab sheikhs with harems of many women, and be suffering from envy. Also they might think Muslim = Arab = wearing robes, so you can't even guess how big their penises might be.

I had much the same reaction when I first saw a photo of it. I could have sworn it was photoshopped in.
