Islamabad is damn near in the Himalayas. As such any operation there would have to be conducted from a land base. But apparently the SEALs would object to that or something. I guess it should be spelled SEA then.

Come on - vote 15! They just need one vote to tie, and another to lead. They have been banned from the original quoted website, so help rub it in!

I can't believe that 19 has only 2 votes, so I must conclude that the Studies are also fake.

Three way tie.

Has that ever happened before? I mean, where it eventually ended up being an actual three way tie after the poll closed rather than before voting was up?

Yes, we had a 3-way tie for the Stundie in the June 2009 finals. This was right after a 2-way tie for the win in the previous month's poll. I think there might have even been another 2-way tie later in that year.

Here's a link to the June 2009 finals poll:

The frontrunners are still neck and neck, so I'm bumping the thread for anyone who hasn't voted yet.

I had to pick #5 for being outrageously stupid.

I haven't voted on the Studies for a few months but I have to say the quality is down. I usually LOL a couple and there wasn't a single one in this whole batch. I got a sad confused vibe instead of a crazy conspiracy vibe.

All -

While I'm absolutely thrilled that my stundie won, in all fairness I think it should be disqualified because, as I pointed out in the nom thread, this was an anecdotal stundie and by definition should not be allowed to compete.

I'll leave it in your hands Travis and if you feel as I do then, please award the stundie to #15.

I've got to say though, this thread has been an endless source of entertainment in my office. We've been following the voting and it's been a source of high comedy - like whenever our intern would check on the voting and we'd hear eeeeeee! from her cubicle. I think the staff is planning some kind of award ceremony of their own, though if my suspicions are correct, I won't sanction it.

As for the nominee himself, he has, begrudgingly, admitted to the error of his ways, like Pakistan is not landlocked and the USN has operatives who aren't necessarily based on ships. So in a way, this thread has indeed put the 'E' in JREF, which is all anyone can ask.

Cheers.

I don't normally pass on an anecdote. As it was I just thought the idea behind it was too funny to leave off but I might have reconsidered if I thought it would beat out everyone else.

I think I'll just make it an honorary mention for the month and let the enraged debunker win since that Stundie was well sourced.

Anyone have any objections to that?
