Matt Lauer fired

Rivera did protest on Twitter yesterday that incidents over five years old shouldn't count, and also that claims should be ignored unless there's an actual witness (lol) or a phone or video recording.
Geraldo has his own closet skeleton: Bette Midler.

This is not a new allegation but it appears to have resurfaced: Geraldo Rivera apologizes to Bette Midler after groping allegation

I remember this when it happened, Geraldo denied it but I always thought it was odd that Mrs Sherryl Raymond Rivera looked so much like Midler, suggesting that was indeed the body type he was attracted to. But I can't find a pic of that particular wife at the relevant age.

This guy sucks. I don't know how anyone could have liked him. He's the kind of person who enjoys farting in a packed van. Instead of saying "sorry," he goes, "Yeah, that was me."

Washington Post reports that the door lock button is standard in many of the older NBC offices.
Betcha when people come to work Monday morning they'll be as rare as hen's teeth.

On our local media critics show last night, I heard that Fox, ABC, and CNN for sure and likely CBS allow the lock button for celebrity employee offices. They said it's a security measure that started long ago so that celebrities could avoid having fans and haters getting to them in their private office. They also said that the ones they personally had experience with did not lock people in (makes sense since that would likely be a fire safety violation in most places).
