This article by Carlos Porter alleges that the original national socialists didn't use the words master race and that it was an invention of their enemies - namely Jews and communists and has entered common usage through repetition millions of times in books, newspapers, movies and tv shows www.cwporter.com/rauschningnote.htm
The master race scenario is used to try and discredit national socialism by linking it to the alleged "holocaust" which has been debunked See www.holocaustdenialvideos.com and www.nazigassings.com

It is very unlikely that they did use the term "Master Race", they tended to speak and write German.

So, when Goebbels uses the term 'Herrenvolk' here, what exactly DOES he mean?

The term Herrenvolk is what is translated into English as "Master Race." Also relevent is the Deutsche Volksliste (DVL) [German People's List] an institution formed for occupied Poland to classify the racial purity of Poland's inhabitants and intended as the universal model for such classifications in other occupied lands.

There are archives of the racial caste system laws that were put into place under Nazi expansionism.

Laws passed by the Nazis would mention "Germans or kindred blood" and spoke of serving the Reich and the German people.

Mondial, if the Nazis weren't intent on breeding a race of supermen fit to lead the world into a better tomorrow, then what's the point of defending them?

I mean, without some high and noble goal, they're just another bunch of thugs bent on violent land-grabs. Take away their concept of the Master Race, and they're just jerks with snazzy uniforms. You want to defend them over that?

ETA: Please note I am in no way sympathetic to Nazis or Nazism or anti-semitism. I just find it strange to take away something that distinguishes Nazis from any other imperialistic warmongering European faction, and then still want to defend them.

Are you calling Spike Jones a liar?

"When der Fuhrer says, 'Ve ist der master race,' we heil! (pbbbt!), heil! (pbbbt) right in der fuhrer' face"

Another drive by holocaust denial by a desperate nazi apologist. Pathetic.
Try Nuremberg Laws, read the works of Hans F. K. Günther, Alfred Rosenberg, Walther Darré.
And on Mr. Porter try this for the quality of his "scholarship".

"Herrenvolk" == "Master Race"

Google Translate is your friend!

Are you constitutionally incapable of recognizing a rhetorical question?

Edit: Just to give you a heads-up, a lot of posters have also used sarcasm in this thread. Pinkymcfatfat does not actually think his murdered relatives are still alive at Bergen-Belsen.

Ooo ... I am so terribly sorry! I missed all those flashing neon signs, bold-faced footnotes and italicized disclaimers that declared the question a rhetorical one that knowledgeable and resourceful people need not answer.

:oldroll:

Why hasn't this been reported on CNN? Thank god I read the JREF forum for my news and history needs.

It's because CNN is told what to do by the Jews, silly!

So is everyone else!

I live in Israel. Here, even Jews are told what to do by other Jews, their bosses.

Scary, huh?

Usually context is sufficient.

So what possible context could be inferred from the question...

So, when Goebbels uses the term 'Herrenvolk' here, what exactly DOES he mean?

... other than garethjb wanting to know the answer?

I hope he feels grateful for your intervention.
