Massage and muscle knots

I think the word you're looking for is "tension".

:D

I'm really not trying to be a jerk here, I do that all the time. I might have actually used the word "tensity" at some point. :rr:

I had a very sore neck a few years ago, and I could feel a lump which seemed as big as a golf ball. I showed it to my doctor and she said she thought it was a knotted muscle (muscle in permanent spasm, I assume). I went to a masseuse, and she had a real go at it. It took quite a lot of sessions, but in the end it did go. It hurt while she was working on it, but it was the sort of pain you felt was probably doing good, if you know what I mean. The lump has completely gone now.

But I seriously doubt the story of non-painful muscle knots you don't know about!

Without reading the entire thread I offer my comments:

Since I finally applied learned, hand's on knowledge of anatomy and what women want about 14 years ago, I discovered that muscle "knots" are just tension and spasms in major muscles (usually). Manipulation tends to loosen the tension and reduce the spasm, kinda like exercise, but more passive.

Massage is a pan species experience, and while I think theraputic massage for pets is crap, there can be no denial that cats, dogs and other pet animals enjoy manual muscle stimulation.
