What's to prevent them from selling the data to unscrupulous third parties? I mean, other companies do the same thing with your personal details.

Make it part of the deal and law that if they do, they forfeit the contract, have to pay a substanial fine (more than they could hope to get by selling the data), and that the directors and those involved in making the decision to sell all get comfy jail cells for a lengthy period of time.

I may not have been completely clear about that part. If so, my bad.

No problem. It just wasn't adding up, and was worried that an FFL was in violation of MANY laws, and was concerned....
