An employee of mine (who I will call "Vinton") is a truther and lurks on this forum. "Vinton" sent me an e-mail giving an explanation why William Rodriguez's has changed his story so many times. I have tried to get "Vinton" to post his claim on this forum but he refuses therefore I am posting the relevant part of the e-mail because I can see the explanation being spread among and used by truthers to justify William Rodriguez's story changes.
So here it is:

So the defense is William Rodriguez isn't a liar he just fails at memory. Wow. Too bad evidence does not support his new memories.I've noticed the debunkers on JREF have called William Rodriguez a liar. This is wrong. William Rodriguez has not lied about his accounts on 9/11. His changing story is a matter of false memories. False memories are a common psychological event that happens to most people. The work of Professor Elizabeth Loftus proves this to be true.
Who is Elizabeth Loftus?
Elizabeth Loftus ,a pioneer in the field of cognitive research who was named one of the top psychologists by the Review of General Psychology, had conducted numerous studies on human memory. What she found was that memories can become distorted over time and that false memories can easily be implanted through suggestions, dreams, or even a vivid overactive imagination. In one experiment she set out to convince participants that they had gotten lost in the mall as children. By the end of the experiment, nearly all the participants had created false memories of this fictional event. Many even described the mall and anxiety of being separated from their parents in great detail this proves that memory is extremely malleable. (here is a link to articles written by the good professor.)
This applies to William Rodriguez. He hasn't lied. His memory of the events have changed and the changes in memory can be a result of numerous things as pointed out in the case work of Elizabeth Loftus. To call him a liar is just wrong. Tell that to the debunkers at JREF!
