Magnetic generator

http://kalireview.com/MagneticElectricityGenerator/

Anybody know anything about this? Is it legit or pseudoscience?

None of these devices have been proven to work, and there's much reason to believe none ever can. They make 1 of 2 claims, neither of which is sensible:

1. the device creates new energy from "nowhere", which contravenes the 1st law of thermodynamics. EM theory can be mathematically proven to be consistent w/the 1st law of thermodynamics.

2. (more common) they tap into some "exotic" source of energy. No such sources of energy are posited to exist in conventional EM theory.

Conclusion: Since all parts of them are describable by conventional EM theory and conventional EM theory does not allow for either claim to work, these devices do not work.

i saw this on ebay...the magnetic generator being sold the was pre manufactured.

You can make a turbine from magnets, and people have, but have they ever tested its maximum torque? You need torque to generate electricity.

And it still wouldn't be "free" energy. You're converting the stored energy from the aligned electrons into motion. Eventually, the magnets will demagnetize. I'd say it would happen faster when you apply torque, which might explain why no one has actually used a magnetic turbine for electricity.

maybe if you had a few and joined them together with monster audio cables your hi-fi would sound better :D

I just watched the video (with some fast forwarding). The bit at the start where he gets the magnet on the table to spin is a cute trick, but that's all it is, a trick. I'm not sure he even understands that it's just a trick, though.

Note that the magnet on the table is slightly tilted to the left. The bottom contact is rounded, so the contact point is off-axis. In order to move towards the camera, it spins so that the contact point rolls forward instead of just dragging along the table. So by pulling the magnet towards the camera, this guy can make it spin. Neat, but it's got nothing to do with magnetism in particular, and it sure as hell isn't a source of power. Which is why he can't get his tower to do anything.

Here's another good one, the TB4000:

Watch all the way through, you might get the wrong impression if you stop partway through.

You can make a turbine from magnets...

Apparently even this statement was wrong. It's incredibly hard to research this, because google gives pages and pages of scammery.. but I found sites that reminded me that a static magnetic field can not cause lasting motion. The magnets would search for equilibrium, and without a change in the field, they would quickly find it and stop moving.

/facepalm
How could I believe something so stupid?
