Actually, it's my boilerplate disdain for all religion. I just focused on Christianity since that was what the original post was about.

There are a lot of reasons for wars, but the wars I had in mind were the wars in Europe between Protestants and Catholics, and the crusades of the Christians against the Muslims.

Which were predated by three centuries of warn conquest, begun against Christians, by Muslims.

My point in tweaking your nose is that it takes two to tango/do that war thing.

A related point is that some of those wars, to include a crusade or two, used religion as a fig leaf, not as a prime motive.

I understand why many Christians condemn male homosexuality (Paul). I don't understand why that is supposed to translate into laws that affect non-Christians in a country which is supposed to be neutral as regards religion. Christians should obey God's law as they understand it, if they want to earn the benefits Christianity promises. That's on them. Secular law can't be justified by the teachings of a particular religion. And what's the point of trying to do it that way anyway? The non-Christians are damned anyway, why add to their misery on earth?
